troadie: see my earlier edit, apologies i do seem to have misunderstood part of the MTP scheme, and the way it works DOES seem to make it compulsory to purchase the MTP. lifes a woman

Don't you know, we only ever sell out against United?

Some Hull City fan I work with came out with this shit a few years ago when they were in the Prem. I couldn't resist having a look later that night. During the year of the takeover, the Derby was in fact our 10th highest home league attendance of the season.
mansour's tow ropes said:troadie said:mansour's tow ropes said:No it does not. MTP only comes into play after all the brackets of points have had their chance to get tickets.
It goes something like this (for example):
- 8000 points
-7000 points
-6000
-5000
-3000
-2500
-2000
-1500
-MTP
-normal blue card
-general sale
if people buy when they are first eligible to do so then people with MTP will not affect them; it only gives me an advantage over those who also have not enough points to get them into an earlier purchasing bracket.
so to reiterate - it does not let me get tickets before those with more points than me - this would be stupid as it would render the whole loyalty points system redundant.
but having said that, whenever i buy a ticket i am happy and don't give a flying fuck about those people with more points than me who may have missed out on getting a ticket for whatever reason. if they have enough points, they are given a priority and if they fail to purchase their ticket within their time then tough luck.
Yes it does, example, a blue member with 10 points and MTP can get a ticket before a blue member with 1000000 points and no MTP, also your selling criteria example is wrong unless you are referring to season card holders getting tickets for cup games before blue members.
So to reiterate, it does let you to get tickets before those with more points than you.
are you on the wind up? if someone has 1000000 points they will qualify for the earliest date of being eligible to purchase (i.e. 8000+ plus points or whatever it is for that match). MTP only comes into play after all categories of points have been given their chance to purchase. if you think that having a £15 MTP membership puts you at the head of the queue, in front of people with thousands of points, then you need help.
edit: ok i was wrong about one thing - even with enough points you still need MTP to purchase, i didn't realise this and this does seem to force all blue members to pay the extra £15. but at the end of the day these fans would probably all choose to pay the extra £15, and its not much in the grand scheme of a season.

troadie said:No worries mate, I'm not having a go at you or anybody else for buying MTP, my gripe is with the club for using it as an excuse to screw extra money out of the fans.
Dubai Blue said:The club may as well do away with the loyalty point scheme for all the good it now does. This is just yet another legitimate way to bypass the system by paying for the privilege. City should stop doing this sort of shit; it really doesn't sit well with the whole 'loyalty' ethos they love to espouse.
peter.evans said:That's my point exactly chaps, City are screwing the fans for everything they can get. Which is a sad state of affairs and more importantly they do not reward loyalty to the club.
Uwes Grandad said:Is it just for the derby that City have insisted on MTP? I am almost sure it wasn't like this for previous home games.
