Devante Cole: "City don't care about English kids"

dont agree with that how do you know he isn't working his ass off in training ? the problem for players like barker and roberts is they aren't being given enough game time. Barker has played about twenty minutes in the past month roberts has played only 2 full games all season. even nacho he's barely played. theres only so much training they can do they need games to prove themselves. 'if there good enough they will play' its clear as anything they have the talent they just need pelle to give them more minutes and have faith in them.
what pelle should have done was looked at barkers amazing form last season and thought we have a great young player here maybe we should loan him out or give him some minutes to prove he can be good enough. hopefully some of them get a chance tonight
I'd have thought it was pretty clear by now that Pellegrini isn't in charge of youth development. It's not up to him to decide whether it's best to loan players out or which youth levels or competitions they should be playing in, it's not his job. He's only in charge of the first team and I don't think it's particularly surprising that Barker hasn't been playing for the first team, given that Sterling and De Bruyne both are happy to play on the left and have been injury free.

Hopefully he's on the bench tonight and might get a run out, but it's more odd that Vieira hasn't been picking him for the EDS and the UYL games, given that he's one of the overage players we named, but most things Vieira does baffle me a bit.

Interesting point here.................It is a copy/paste job..................after City beat Chelsea in the recent U21's game..............

"""Although the commentators were very Lunnon oriented, it was interesting to note that they expressed admiration for the Etihad Academy and gave the following stats which make a change from the “they’ve spent all this money but none of them will ever get a kick in the PL and all the foreigners they bring in are ruining English football” brigade of media writers and punditry.

66% of the Academy players come from the Greater Manchester area
There are 26 Internationals in the ManCity Academy
16 of the Internationals are England Internationals
Every ManCity age group finished above ManU in their respective year groups last season.
ManCity are national Champions at three age groups, U12, U14, U16′s."""

So the begrudgers can suck that lot up!

If Cole was good enough he would not be where he is today.

Thanks you just answered my question

Are you really suggesting that it's Vieira who decides who will he play in the EDS/Youth CL even if Pellegrini is short of numbers and needs junior players in training/on the bench? I'm entirely sure that they have an agreement and Barker is now with the first team because he's the best of the lads on that particular position, and not because Vieira decided to fuck him off from his squad (as you rightly point out, he's even named as an overaged player in the youth CL).

Anyway, it's the right time for Barker to have a go on loan in the Championship, I'd guess we can agree at least on that.

Well I find it bizarre that people use Barker as some personal example of a travesty, my point was not that Barker isn't working hard, but that everyone pointing fingers does nothing and it's down to him to break through. Barker went to Oz and didn't show anything to me in the minutes he played, to be honest, and I would find it staggering that he "couldn't" find a loan, so some party somewhere has obviously prevented it. He can't "expect" to get into our current first team, but who knows, maybe tonight he might get a shot. I don't know why Barker isn't playing in the EDS, I can only assume the club think he's above that level and if so, then he must be on the verge of some game time, unlike the likes of Evans and Byrne who have been allowed out on loan.

With Silva/Nasri/Sterling/De Bruyne/Navas ahead of you, it was always going to be very difficult to get a look in, but with some injuries, tonight and Saturday are probably the first opportunity since the international break to give somebody new a go. Nasri needed minutes against Bournemouth and it backfired, but tonight I expect to see Roberts start, with Barker getting an appearance from the bench, but these guys have to step up and have the game won like the first-team would do. No point in them playing and getting knocked out like that Villa game, because that puts Manuel under unnecessary pressure and also will give him a cold shoulder to using them again. You have to hit the ground running in the first team. EDS fans can moan all they like, but it's up to the lads themselves to make it happen. Their life, their career, their opportunity. Put it this way, Pelle got swooned by Isco as a kid at Malaga, so he's open to youngsters, but they have to shine and really impress, and that's the way it should be.

i haven't said its a personal travesty, i just dont understand what we are doing with him, he's basically in no mans land atm. he show glimpses of talent in pre season, again i think he only played for 45 minutes ? again not enough time in a meaningless game. if it was based on pre season games george evans should be getting chances now then. of course he shouldnt be in our first team, but he should be starting or getting plenty of game time in games like tonight. it is up to them to make it but how can they prove they are good enough if they aren't played ??? despite training well.

Cole wasn't good enough for our first team, but some of the strategies for players like roberts and barker a find a bit strange. its good they are getting to train with the first team, but if they aren't playing they need to go out on loan or get minutes off the bench

Talksport are running with this story today and Harman said he wouldn't send any kid to the big acadamies
I just texted those stats in the vain hope they take any notice, probably not though

spoilt arse devante has been rejected by several championshp/1st division clubs no one wanted him , Bradford was his last resort , the by product of rejection is bitterness , which this prick has in abundance. His dad was also a gobshite ("call me andrew") , but at least he could play a bit , good riddance , hope he got his 20 pieces of silver for the article , and the daily fail will have generated thousands of clicks from their mug rags and dippers fans / customers. Its so f*cking transparent , they are scraping the barrel now , cant they find another "special one" story , and leave us alone.

I had a read of the comments section at lunchtime and it's was pretty much all pro-city. The only trolling came from United fans who had just woken up in Singapore.

Murray started to read those stats then Hamman over talked them changing the subject. I was tempted to ring in and ask him for an invite to see a very different club than he left.
