No, Devante, you just weren't good enough.

I like the Daily Mail .
It's never bitter about Manchester City .
Are you Cole's PR agency?Regardless of whether he was good enough or not he has a point and it's silly for you to disagree otherwise when he has experienced it first hand and it is not just a City problem, it's a Premier League problem.
The quote about Pellegrini in South Africa I can believe for one.
We are a Spanish run club on the football operations side with a Spanish speaking manager and the bulk load of young players bought between 15-18 are Spanish.
Maffeo, Angelino, M.Garcia, A.Garcia, Pozo, Fernandes, Brahim are all young Spanish players who have been bought for big money and because of that they will get the chances ahead of the English lads when they are no better (apart from Brahim who looks a little special) because someone's job will be on the line when those higher up question why have you spent millions on that player when a lad born in Manchester is better. Case in point with Pozo/Hiwula. Hiwula would have done a far better job last season when we were short but Pozo had to play as he cost a few million and was Spanish.
It doesn't matter all the stats about 66% of the Academy being from Manchester. You would expect that amount as from U6 - U13 you won't recruit from anywhere else, it's the ages after that they start to be replaced by expensive foreign exports.
For example Manu Garcia is vastly Overated by everyone, he will not make it at City, if an English lad say for example Patching had been given as many chances so far as he has because he cost money then Patching would be flying and we would have a more developed footballer who is English and more importantly Mancunian. Instead Garcia will be on the bench tonight when he has not had one good game in any set up this season and is continually brought off (yes I know Patching is unavailable tonight but he wasn't v Sunderland)
Just because the Academy is booming at the moment and because he dad is a rag, doesn't mean it's sour grapes.
Its a situation that needs to be sorted soon as in the long run, facilities won't count for anything if they can see you will be there till you are 15/16 before being replaced by someone foreign.
Nope, just not got blue tinned glasses when it comes to everything City. Are you Cole's PR agency?
It's dog eat dog. The kids' parents need to make sure the kids are realistic in their expectations. As you say, only a very small number (probably on average, less than one in each year group) will make it at City. At 16, many will get scholarships at lower league clubs displacing most of their own academy kids who will move on to semi-pro / non-league or more likely leave completely. Most of the ones that have been given scholarships at City at age 16 will be sold or released at the end of their 2 years. This story completely ignores the reality of modern football academies. Firstly to favour English players over other EU players would be illegal under EU law. The top academies are run like mini clubs where players are scouted and brought in from across Europe with fees paid out, you can’t complain if these players are better than the English players.
Secondly most youth systems will have circa 10 to 20 players of various ages leaving each year, the vast majority will leave on a free and end up in semi pro leagues or lower, of the circa 10% that make it at pro level, clubs will charge fees where they can, and this funds the whole system. Is he arguing that he should have been released on a free into obscurity or is he arguing he should be playing in the first team.
There is no foundation to Coles points he should be grateful of the top level training he had and the fact that he has got an opportunity to play professional football. If he is good enough he has the opportunity to prove city wrong but having watched him over the years I’m not worried.
Yeah because Zuculini has played so many minutes for us..Nope, just not got blue tinned glasses when it comes to everything City.
Another case point, Bruno Zuculini, no better than George Evans but gets more chances and better loans on the account that he's not from Cheadle.
