For what he would have cost, im not arsed. He's a good player but he's done feck all to warrant being worth £20m. Is he that much better than say...Stephen Appiah?

Barely noticed him when we arseholed pompey. I work with an Arsenal fan and he really rated him but still, i haven't seen anything that justifies anywhere near £20m. There are plenty of deeper lying midfielders out there....

some people are completely blind when it comes to City's players. Kompany isn't a brilliant passer and does get caught in possession quite a bit. Namely against PSG and Everton. He is an immense player, but is more of a destructive force than a creative force. Saying he can't pass the ball is well off the mark, he can pass it laterally and tries to ping a few. His decision making needs to improve a bit. He is young and exceprionally gifted. It'll come.

Makes me wonder... if we can't even get Diarra... what are our chances to get any decent player really...

with all due respect mate... its Real who have come in for him... not sure we can compete with that just yet. think weve been unlucky on this one, with firstly pompy not really wanting to do business with us and secondly ramos going to Real

Agreed, same thing happened with Ronaldinho, a better more historic club came in for him. Without Milan - we'd have got him and it seems only for Real, we'd have got Diarra.

We have to accept this will happen for a few years until we reach that stage, but all the noises are that these players do consider us, so we're halfway there.

Diarra is a quality player and just the type we need...I wouldn't be surprised if we still put a bid in for him. Besides we knew the price tag was gonna be around £18m
