Did City ever have any Southern Hooligans?

I think one of Zin 'messiah' Zimmer's maiden aunts was indeed involved - he will hopefully be good enough to tell us some of her exploits.

Have you invaded again?

A cast of thousands but I didn't spot you.

For fucks sake, stay off the thread if you don`t like it. For some of us it was part of growing up. It was of the times and you could either sneak out of the away grounds or go out together. Stick together.

Unreal these fkin idiots mate, if you don't agree then don't come on the thread, simple as.
May i ask Bluepurgatory if you are indeed, plod?

Who are you calling the idiot. Those who condone violence or me who is against it. And what are you going to do if i dont stay off the thread. Set your gang on me (sic) and No I am not the Plod.

Incorrect use of (sic)

Anyway, I know of a few lads from down south in the 90s who formed a "hooligan" group to combat the cockney rags who used to populate the train stations up & down the country. Not sure of numbers or success in fighting. Named themselves Blue Suede Crew which probably deserved a beating in itself!

I remember going to Palace early 2000's and as the train we were on pulled into Clapham Junction a fair gang of rough looking cockney lads got on the train.

I thought oh fuck me here we go,gonna be grief here before we get to the ground, but as one of them shuffled down nearer us,as it was standing room only,I noticed he had a little City badge on his jacket, and turned out all to be "cockney Blues"

I aint saying for deffo they were hooligans, but would certainly have had them on your team if it went off,but Blues ???? Cockneys ?? I couldnt stop thinking bout it all that day, infact to this day I will always remember it

I had been preparing myself for a number of days with a strict regimen of complete rest and a rather demanding diet of real ale and selected offal. on my return to The Cellar I suffered an agonising attack of the bends upon catching sight of the Jimmy Savile thread.

Well it's marathon time for you unless you fancy being colonised.

Remember those boys very well. They were lead by Del "The KitKat Kid" Cooper weren't they? I did a couple of aways to with them and they were proper handy. Liked nothing more than tearing up a manor and running riot round the gaff.

Distinctly remember the Handbags At Hyde Park Corner incident. And if you weren't at the Swiss Cottage Set To, you're not a real Blue.

I look forward to The KitKat Kids forthcoming book!
Cracking read (seen a preview being ITK - in the kitkat) even tells you how he ended up only having four fingers.

Saw that lad down in town last week - he's gotten proper chunky.

Many older fans will recall the three or four seasons in the mid 80s when there was a crew of seemingly sweet old ladies from the West Country who regularly took a mini bus to all City games. There weapons of choice were extra long knitting needles and hat pins. I remember some rag meatheads taking them on only to be rolled up in a tangled giant trap made of dozens of hair nets sewn together and then savagely prodded by the game game old gals. The Bristol Bad Biddies they called themselves - they disbanded when Enid their leader developed severe rheumatism and a couple of the others had varicose vein operations.

Rumour has it they still come out for the big games. Could've sworn I saw a zimmer frame near the away end vs Dortmund.

zimmer zan posts on here ! sssshhhhhhh!

I would prefer it if my colon was not discussed in such terms in a public setting.

Well QE2 has launched a commonwealth invasion with some technical support from USA (former colony).

Not looking good on the western front.

Weren't they the 'Similar Shoe Crew'?

As for the original question, I would say not exactly hooligans, but there was indeed a group of Blues who while not going looking for it, would certainly dish it out if met with hostilities, and they held their own, trust me.

Anyone who was at Euston station would remember the battle with the cockney reds which followed months of provocation, they backed off after that.
