Did we really get it wrong?

We beat Bayern at the Alianz that is a great accomplishment. If we pressed forward we could have drawn or lost. Bringing on Sergio is not a guaranteed goal. Be happy we came back and won in excellent fashion, I guarantee that is all the players are caring about at this moment after our recent away outings.

Starter of this thread is a twat, my opinion.

How so?

Does it not worry you that nobody in attendance from the club knew how many goals we needed to win our group? It's not the end of the world but it's an amateur mistake.

I'm not directing blaming Pellers, he has to worry about player positioning and formation etc. But someone behind him should have known.

rag sky sheep.

"Quinny" to you.

Don't think it was either of them, there's another I.P address a friend has found that I've never been to.

If we are going to win this then we have to beat a big side at some point.

It might as well start in last 16 and if we lose then we concentrate on the league.

Whatever happens we are going to have one hell of a tie to look forward to in February.

There is nothing to be upset about with this....

That is true.

first or second in the group is irrelevant....
That is not correct. You don't want to be facing the best any earlier than you have to. Granted, there are not many mugs left in the competition now, but there are easier games available to the group winners rather than the runners up. Also, don't the group winners get to play the away leg first in the first knockout stage?

Yes they do. But can we be sure our club knows this? Can we be sure they know the date of our away leg is likely to be a few days before the League Cup final? Is it important to know these things? Is it important to know the rules of the competitions you play in? Bloody sure it is.

"our club" hehehe, well you do try even if it is only a thin veneer.

-- Wed Dec 11, 2013 8:01 pm --

on 5th May 1996 yes badly, last night? not in the slightest as PB said

We've qualified for the last 16 for the first time in our history.
We've stood toe-to-toe with the mighty Bayern Munich and given them a bloody nose in front of their own crowd, in the way they did to us.
We've restored confidence and belief among the squad and most (but sadly not all) of the fans.
We've got 2 extra coefficient points that could easily be the difference between pots 2 & 3.

some people need to get some perspective,

we could have changed the team another way and lost, for me last night has only positives, but then some people always seem need to find the negatives these days

This
Oh, and in the back of the mind of every player & manager we'll potentially draw (whether put there accidentally or deliberately, matters not a f**k) there is now the nagging worry that the only reason we didn't utterly demolish the best team in Europe is because we took our foot off the pedal.

Some mods on this thread - namely Cleavers, LoveCity, PB, and Ducado - talking absolute shite and furthemore suppressing debate from genuine blues which is bang out of order IMO.

I rate Pellegrini. I was beyond overjoyed at the result and performance last night, probably moreso than any result for a year or more. Yet Im aghast at what transpired after the game. It was a shocking oversight that defies belief.

I thought Bluemoon might be a good place to air my grievances at this. Apparently its not the place anymore for such discussions. See ya.
