Did we really get it wrong?

Some mods on this thread - namely Cleavers, LoveCity, PB, and Ducado - talking absolute shite and furthemore suppressing debate from genuine blues which is bang out of order IMO.

I rate Pellegrini. I was beyond overjoyed at the result and performance last night, probably moreso than any result for a year or more. Yet Im aghast at what transpired after the game. It was a shocking oversight that defies belief.

I thought Bluemoon might be a good place to air my grievances at this. Apparently its not the place anymore for such discussions. See ya.

I fair few have mentioned it in the negative but not been questioned, mainly because they had perspective.
That is we can't affect the situation, only speculation says we would have scored with a more attacking final 20min (even though we were attacking still) and they chose to focus on the huge positive in the main.
They acknowledge mostly it was, a daft mistake but we are human and shit happens.

"shocking, aghast"
It is terminology like this Toma that winds people up, you sound like a red top sensationalist reporter tbh.
It comes across as if i am honest a bit of drama queen-ish.

Bloody hell Ste that's a bit strong and not at all like you. Are you going through the change or maybe ban-mcfc’s housemate has hacked your account.

No one has suppressed anything but my contrary opinion is a strong as yours appears to be. Go and have a smoke and a glass of wine and come back tomorrow.

Sadly that is the only conclusion I can come to, not many of these posters are praising him in any of the other threads either.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm still buzzing about winning the game.

Me too, big smiles all day today.

Happy days.

The drama queens have been those who arent bothered by the mix up coming in here and being hysterical at those who were concerned by it. This has been the case right from page one where the OP has been called every name under the sun. Have the posters been warned by the mods? I doubt it seeing as the mods themselves have got in on the act calling us (the ones who cannot believe such a mix-up could occur) rags etc

The way that those who aired surprise or concern at MP's oversight have been shouted down on here has been a joke. Posters (most of them anyway - of course there's going to be the occasional covert rag) have been trying to converse openly and honestly and eruditely and been abused left right and centre. It fucking stinks and the biggest irony of all is that its you guys who have been saying this is a bad example of Bluemoon. Yeah it is. Goodbye open debate. Youre either with us or against us.

Seems obvious that there was some misunderstanding about the situation on the ground. Shouldn't have happened, but fuck it. It was a great performance and there are no easy draws in the next round anyway. After last night we shouldn't be afraid of anyone. They should be worried about drawing us.

No Toma you guys came in with the sensationalist stuff.
This is a city forum so being pissed off blues defend the team is hard luck i guess.
As i and others have said, no issue with debate but when words like you have used arbitrarily you better expect some to be pissed off.
You know human nature as well as anyone bud.

If you want to call blues hypocrites and essentially slam them for having a differing opinion they express within the site rules then expect to get a rebuttal.

Many accept a mistake was made however many saw reactions as over the top given the circumstances.

Your general attitude to the issue imo stinks basically.

Just got in the house back from Munich.

As with most Euro trips it was a great trip, great place and as is becoming the norm this season in Europe a great performance (after first 15 mins).

Very proud of the team and we showed we have spirit and balls to come back against the current best team in Europe with half our team.

However we really should be far more professional as a club in that we should have known exactly what was required to top the group. It wasn't difficult and there are highly paid manager, backroom staff and players ALL of whom should have known the permutations.

City's official twitter account knew as they tweeted 20 mins from time we only needed 1 more goal, so how can the management team not know? Needs addressing and we need to learn from it.

If this was any other team we would be ripping the piss out of them.

I agree. It's been a very weird thread in terms of posters being shot down and called rags, sums, ungrateful, spoilt etc when there is an issue right there in front of their eyes. It was a fuck up, a fuck up that might cost us.

You can see right through this thread though. Those that are usually defending of the club and team regardless of who the manager is have been, well er defending the club. Those that yearn for Mancini have gone mental and those that hated Mancini and love Pellegrini have done all they can to defend him and the mistake.

It's a bit sad really. We should be able to praise/criticise the club when it is necessary, not dependant on who is the manager. If it was Moyes and United that did it there'd be no end to the pissing sides on here and likewise if it was Mancini last season it would be roles reversal in terms of which posters are defending the club and those that aren't. Just say what you see.

-- Wed Dec 11, 2013 10:01 pm --

You must be joking? Look back in the thread and see what has been said about those that have had a problem with it. The first few pages should be enough.

Guy, besides once accusing some of hypocrisy, it is not me who has slammed others for having a differing opinion. This whole thread has been the majority - that includes mods - ridiculing and abusing the minority. On this issue I am in the minority so you're quite wrong there.
Last night was like the witchfinder general on here. Thank goodness I had gone to bed or Id probably had fallen out with people I otherwise like a lot.

I don't really think we would have scored the 4th if we'd gone for it, more likely conceded a 3rd. And if we had finished top we'd probably end up drawing Dortmund. So I'm not losing any sleep over the outcome of the match, which I thought was terrific. Although I have to confess to a tinge of self satisfaction this morning, having been derided in ground when I suggested that 2-4 would do. I'm not proud of it.

I do hope that there's been the most awful row in the club today. The club prides itself on attention to detail, professionalism. I don't think Pellegrini should personally have scrutinised the Uefa regulations to cover every scoring scenario. But he should have made sure that someone had done. I think the players will be fairly pissed off today at having the gloss taken off of their efforts.

If this had happened to United or any other English club, 99% of posters would be having a right good laugh at them, And similar things have happened in other sports. South Africa cocking up the Duckworth Lewis rule for example. Unfortunately when it happens nobody has much sympathy, indeed tend to revel in the embarrassment of the team that messes up.

At least we know that the first question at Friday's press conference will not be about who will be in goal against Arsenal
