Didsbury

Third eye for curry
Hispi for posh food
Tintos for tapas (not sure if open on Monday)

Head of steam or expo lounge for pub grub or has others have said old cock.

Havent tried the Thai place and cau the Argentine steak place looks like it's closing down.

Of you're after a chippy tea avoid fosters didsbury fish bar isnalot cheaper.

Dog and partridge is ok but lost some of its charm since it's been done up. Head of steam have large selection of beers

If you can be arsed with a mile and a half walk there’s a few places on Burton Road worth considering. There’s Indique for a posh Indian, Namaste Nepal is better than the Kathmandu for a Nepalese restaurant in my opinion. There’s also a few bar restaurants such as Michael Johnson’s The George Charles. You can get a decent pint in the Railway. Most of the other bars just do overpriced craft beer.

I think the pubs let it down. They should be much better. There’s fortunes to be made for a good pub operator in Didsbury.

Something that mirrors the Plough in Harborne, in Birmingham. That place takes incredible sums of money in an area that bears the closest resemblance to Didsbury in Brum.

I know the Royal Oak used to be Martson’s biggest barrelage tenancy in the country, but last time I was in there it looked ever so tired. The Nelson is well situated, not been in for years. Used to be a big blues pub, and therefore probably still is. That unit that used to be Squires (that’s now CAU) could have been another Metropolitan if someone had possessed the vision twenty or so years ago.

Need to up its game in that department, if it’s going to be considered a truly great English suburb.

Alberts is and I know it takes big money. The Woodstock is a good venue; when I was denigrating the pubs, I was talking about the ones in the village itself.
The Woodstock has recently been done up and it’s gone a bit too overpriced and family friendly for me. The Railway on Lapwing Lane is the best traditional pub in Didsbury these days.
