"Disappointing" attendances

My point was Manchester derbies, which you keep dodging.

Do you think we’ve put our best foot forward and gone for the kill in this season’s two?

I think we were naive in the first one and complacent in the second half of the second.

I believe Guardiola tore into the players after the game for their second half performance.

I've read most of what there is to read about Pep, in terms of books, etc.

Much as he dresses like he's come in off the street, albeit, one of his jumpers probably costs more than plenty of people earn in a week, I do perceive a major disconnect from him.

He has always created a bubble around himself, surrounding himself with like-minded people, both professionally and personally. Perhaps, that is just to make living away from 'home' that little more palatable?

However, he certainly seems to lack empathy when the press see an 'open goal' and get him to comment on our fanbase in general.

Pep has bemoaned the amount of games the team has been forced to play in recent months, yet cannot acknowledge that the very same supporters who follow City, have the same exacting diary.

They don't earn a decimal of what he or the squad do. City fans are just regular members of society. Christmas and other commitments come along, regardless of income.

The Inland Revenue don't particularly care if I have to budget for my corporation tax and self-assessment in the same month, they want paying end of.

I saw a stat today we have not lost a domestic Cup game in over two years, winning 19 since the loss at Wigan away? Fctoring in Wembley finals and semi-finals, surely no other supporter base has had that set of demands placed upon it.

That's the price of success, I hear the cry? It's as lazy a narrative as those who think all City fans must be loaded just because we have a billionaire owner from Abu Dhabi.

Pep doesn't see it. He is from a different world. Why would he see it? He eats in his own restaurant, he eats in his own private dining areas. He mixes with his own work colleagues and he jets off to the Maldives and elsewhere when there is an opportunity. He can do whatever he wants, nobody would begrudge him, either.

What I don't like is him having a pop at my club.

The blame lies squarely at Soriano and the people who run the club.

They don't give a fuck about asking for Madrid money nine weeks in advance, a United semi-final two days after an FA Cup game against a Championship team, n or games over Christmas, the altering kick-off times and lamentable local transport issues.

The disconnect is huge.

Seems an ill-judged thing to say from Pep not least because the people he has angered with these comments are the people who (like me) were actually at the game yesterday. And, like me, there's absolutely nothing we can do about how many people turn up for matches so don't publicly disrespect the entire fanbase.

If you are calling for more support then it seems a bit nonsensical to annoy the very people who are there in the stadium supporting the club.

Love Pep but he got this one badly wrong.

Madrid away has sold out.

So both Madrid games have sold out.

On top of 2 League Cup games against United, and the FA Cup game against Fulham.

And don’t forget, the FA Cup draw is tonight, so fans will have to fork out again for an FA Cup game home or away. And a possible replay.

2 weeks today I believe but that's another factor, with people knowing that the money for a very high-priced game is coming out soon.

It was always believed that football was largely 'price inelastic', with the cost having very little impact, if any, on demand. That's now proven not to be the case, as clubs like ours and United have increasingly milked their fans financially and pushed them to the limit of what they can afford. When you also take into account the fact there's a largely finite number of fans, particularly at City where success has only been relatively recent. In the old days, we might have been looking at 21 homes games a season, in a good year. Now it's usually nearer 30, a 35-40% increase. And that's against a background of austerity and stagnation in real wages over the last 10 years.

Pep should visit some of our OSC branches in the more deprived or working class areas to get some first-hand insight into the people he's criticising. And, at the same time, we should be getting ruthless with the BBC and telling them they're all persona non grata until they get the message that we aren't going to be the butt of their snidey jibes any longer.

Only 2 weeks today for those on the cup scheme. If you are not then it added another £80 immediately out of your account due to them putting it on sale 2 months before the game.

Cup scheme people go to all the games or at least have the tickets. It’s the ones not in the schemes that have choices to make. Maybe 4 cup games on sale in Jan is one too many.

There was no need to put Madrid on sale so early.

There were probably 8000 people who didn’t go to Fulham who went to the Port Vale game. I would hazard a guess that most or many of those have chosen United or Madrid as the must buy tickets this month.

If we get 50,000 for United, there will be 47000 City fans. Much higher than usual for semi finals of Carabou Cup. We only got 36000 against Liverpool in 2012 and they had 6000 of those.

Or European Royalty. ;-)

Regardless if Pep wants guidance or not, he needs help and advice from our Media and PR Department. He needs to be made aware of all the possible awkward questions that could be asked and how to fend them off.

It’s been posted a million times before, c***s like Simon Stone, etc, should been banned from Pep’s pre-match interviews. And Soriano, Vicky Kloss, etc, should call a meeting with the BBC Director of Sport at (Rag and Scouse infested) Mediacity to get to the bottom of why BBC Sport continually gives City a hard time.

One thing i liked what Fergie did. Banning arseholes from the media.

I presume you are referring to old baconface? He got away with treating the media like shit for years. Didn’t he ban the BBC and get fined every time, with club picking up the tab?
And he refused to speak to the BBC because they told the fucking truth, or at least asked pertinent questions about his son’s questionable dealings as an agent. Another fucking liberty taking cünt.

City have a PR department!?
Apartfrom the ticket office the PR department are the weakest link at the club. Ferguson used to have a PR woman next to him on briefings and she would advise him frequently. One reporter narked the grumpy old get and he spoke to her and had him banned in front of everyone. We have a ex police woman who should be used to getting intervening but you rarely see her.

Ive noticed that slimy twats like Jackson and Stone often use questions with jargon or slang and Pep looks uncertain and confused and so appears a little evasive.

We know why they put the Madrid game on sale so early though, don't we?

Cash at bank before the first tie in Madrid can have any say in ticket sales for the second-leg at the Etihad.

It's cynical. They want it sold, they don't care who to.

Soriano is the biggest clunt at the club. Far too self-satisfied with his idea for a global stable of clubs. It's done absolutely nothing to benefit Manchester City FC.

Khaldoon has dropped the ball IMO. He has bought into the Barca cult, so enthralled with Pep.

It has started to feel like they think they are doing us a favour?

Vicky Kloss hasn't been involved for quite a while on the ground level presser front. That is Simon Heggie. Fucking useless.

She is on the board now so she must have some responsibility.

Heggie cant be much cop as PR head if people have never heard of himself.

Even allowing for his footballing achievements (spit) and the average press invertebrate, it’s hard to comprehend how he got away with it. Who says bullying doesn’t pay? The man was Teflon coated.

Vicky now has more of a global communications role and that's been half the problem. Last year she was visiting such important places as Torque in Uruguay.

Believe it or not, Heggie has been the supposed attack dog for about six years now. You will see him sat to Pep's right.

Truth is, we have been far too accommodating. It doesn't matter what we do, we will never get an even shake of things.

Ban the local patch journos, you have to hurt them to get people in London to take any notice.

Ban the BBC and SKY, yesterday's men. What's the worst that can happen, they say bad things about us?

You give them the absolute minimum that the Prem regulations allow.

As our old friend Domocles used to rightly state. 'Control the platform, control the narrative'.

An absolute outrage he hasn’t been called out in the press more for some of his dealings around the turn of the century, especially around the time he was supposed to be retiring, then changed his mind. He was right at it at the time. Anyone who isn’t terminally naive can see that.

Seems to have gone downhill since Sam something-or-other left, youngish lad, very well spoke, glasses. Think he went to do a similar role at NYCFC?

He’s not stupid but he is a bit superior. He’s had plenty of idolatry over the years.

Maybe he does receive PR advice and chooses not to heed it. Or maybe not. Who knows?

Well you're clearly not a fan of his and have made your mind up .
