"Disappointing" attendances

YUou honestly think that ?? Fuck, then I seriously doubt you take little interest in his pre match interviews where he gives nothing but great shit answers to most of the tossers. He is subtle in his wording and they can`t understand he is actually taking the piss.
I watch them all oakie and he needs to do what the piss can did instead of being subtle mate that wasn't subtle yesterday and yes we all love him don't mean we can't question what he says.

I recorded it,this is what was said,in the tunnel

pep, thought it would be a tough game till the red card bla

bbc you are still in all the competitions, utd up next, how happy are you where the squad are right now

pep, semi 2nd leg, chance to come back to wembley

hopefully our fans can come more people than today, hopefully can support us more

bbc,did you fel today there wasn't as many fans here as you would have liked

pep, yeah it was not full,i don't know why but it was not full
Thanks Kaz. Would have been more full had the pricing been cheap enough for many, but with it being on BBC the club aren't going to entice enough to fill up the stadium against a mediocre championship team in a 4th round FA cup game. If Pep doesn't realise that he's not connected to the stark reality of supporters circumstances.

So we have thread after thread about shit atmospheres, empty seats, seat counters and how many are left, tourists taking over etc etc etc. Pep calls for a good atmosphere and full house and we all go into meltdown. He wasn’t being disrespectful, he was asking for the same things we all fucking want and that’s a bit of passion on Wednesday night.

F****** spot on!!!

Good post.

The way forward is definitely cheaper tickets, especially when the stadium was nowhere near full yesterday. The club missed a trick in pricing without a doubt. All those mum's dad's and families who chose(probably through being skint) to watch on BBC instead of attending. Had the club priced, say £5 adults and a quid a kid we would have undoubtedly sold out, and many kids would be hooked into wanting to attend live instead of having to watch on TV.

Football is (it already has) becoming too expensive a day out, and the way VAR is right now we will struggle to retain many SC holders. I'm at a crossroads as to whether I'm going to renew next season. Another price hike and my towel will probably get thrown in the ring. Many other blues are either feeling the pinch or disillusioned with how football has become.

I don’t think it was priced too badly (I do think United was though)

The problem the club have is enticing those fans that have dropped off, back to the stadium. My sister went to the Port Vale game and could have attended the Fulham one. Cost wasn’t the issue. She just doesn’t place going to watch us at the top of her priority list. She has a busy life. When we parade the trophies, we have 100,000 people there. You are not telling me they can’t all afford it. It’s just that many don’t go often and if you don’t go often, it’s not a habit. I sometimes go out of habit when I really can’t be arsed. Burton in the semi final last year for example. There was only ever going to be one winner in that and it wasn’t going to be them. I found myself sat there after a long day day at work regardless but it is more of a habit to me.

However I dropped the CL scheme and don’t miss not going to them. Once you don’t miss something, it’s easy to pick and choose. I’m going to Madrid but only because that one appeals. None of the group games did. My life is hectic enough without 8pm kicks offs and midnight get homes.

The Port Vale game was the last weekend of the school holidays. Parents had been tearing their hair out for two weeks with stir crazy kids. A lot of them have been off work themselves. We are now back in work and kids are back into their routine of football training, dance, swimming....parents are catching up on work, going food shopping, knackered from work. It’s not just about money although for some it will be the only reason. Tv was probably the final factor.

As many have alluded to, there is too much football. We played 4 times at home between 21 Dec and 4 Jan and after the last one, I had seen enough and felt like a rest. 39000 is still a good crowd anyway. We only had slightly more for our QF against Reading where they brought many more than Fulham and we hadn’t won a jot for 35 years at that point)

Pep started talking bout the crowd and he hopes more people turn up on wed, nothing to do with interviewer,he has been doing that since he got here, why does he keep handing the crowd over to the media knowing what they write about them, thats what is annoying
Completely agree and he is starting to do my head in with it...if he’s that arsed he could maybe do something about the prices as I reckon he has slightly more influence than us on here and however you dress it up January has been a really expensive month and not all of us have his salary.

The other issue is that this is not the first time he has criticised our fans. I am not saying our support is beyond criticism but I do not accept we are any worse than most other football clubs in the modern era. Pep should have kept his mouth shut. Alienating your core customers is not the way to build support. He is undoubtedly a genius but he doesn't get a free pass for everything he says because of this. I have been to Bayern twice and the Camp Nou three times and was very unimpressed by the atmospheres. But I have never heard noise like 30,000 Poznan fans (in Poland) and 10,000 at Aris Salonika. It is not just about numbers.

He was asked about the squad not the crowd, the point really is he knows what the media write about the home crowd,he has no need to keep feeding the media their headline,in one breath he is saying there are too many games then he brings up the crowd again as if too many games only apply to the team and not the crowd following them,4yrs and if its not the crowd it's our lack of history,he really does stink in that area of the job,he must understand the fanbase by now, there was always going to be a better crowd on wed

Oh i agree. Maybe its a language difference which he hasn't quite got hold of

A lot of our Blue Mooners are obsessed with what their non City fans say about our attendances. The same people are probably the same ones who complain about early leavers. And a lot will be non attendees for City games.

Unlike you Oakie, who in your own words 'couldn't be arsed going', the people probably most incensed by Pep's latest gaffe are the ones who actually bothered to turn up. I bet when you do go, you are an early leaver too judging by your self stated apathy.
You are the definition of a hypocrite.

1894 need a few more flag wavers.

Are you free for 5 minutes before kick off against United Pep?

You can wave the massive Centurion flag.

Much cheaper and they would have been giving the tickets away.

Oh f***!

You gone and done it now.

Incoming Oakie missile alert, everyone.

Take cover!!

This thread needs to cool down...

Do you think he plays the media well?

No we travelled 200 miles, each way got stuck on the closed M6 and diverted going home. Couldn’t care less about Peps comments really. As long as he does his job well.
