Any chance the debate could return to, errrr just that, a debate about Pellegrini, rather than the point scoring nonsense between mancini out, and mancini in.

mancini has left the building, and this thread is about Pellegrini, you know City's manager, the debate was interesting until it was derailed, and I'm not picking one side over the other because both are pretty boring if we're honest.

Thanks.
This debate has never been interesting. This forum is too divided by egos for people to be objective. People see what they want to see.

I'll discuss Pelligreni, never in a million years will he win as much as Mancini. Either here or anywhere else.

If the players were unhappy then didums. I'd have sold the lot. Talk about the tail wagging the dog.
I think joe hart will struggle to get a posse of players together to get rid of pelles like he did with our last gaffer :)

Oh no senior doom merchant is here.

Let's all pack up and go home now chaps. We won't be winning another trophy anytime soon.

actually that's a good point. I wonder how many given the chance to choose to stay along with mancini would do so. those that hated him could choose to go. bearing in mind there wouldn't be 200 grand a week popping in to their bank elsewhere.

but ultimately thats what this is about

why did we do it and are we better off as a result?

doesn't look like it so far tbf but ask me again at crimbo
You prefer the petty point scoring then ? No the thread is called "Discuss Pellegrini" so why can't it stay on topic, we know why mancini was sacked, we don't need point scoring on either side to discuss the current manager, we could just stick to him ?

Its difficult, if not impossible, to discuss Pellegrini without reference to Mancini. Any discussion about Pellegrini at this stage inevitably centres on "what's changed"? What has improved, what has deteriorated? How does Pellegrinii's approach differ from Mancini's? How else would you discuss Pellegrini?

Where we end the season is what counts.
Very true. Yet it needs to improve bloody quick or we will not finish the season in the top 4 - let alone at the top of the pile.

9 games played doesn't mean we've actually dropped that far. However, if you want to play that card, we have gone from the second best record to the best record on shots conceded (my hobby horse of the moment). We had the best record in that regard in our title winning season but it still wasn't as low as it is this season. Do you want to tell me that there in not normally a correlation between defensive record and shots conceded? Do you not think that the number of goals conceded is not anomalous to the actual number of chances were are conceding and that perhaps we do not have too much to do to get our defensive record back on track? Well' probably your tape measure says otherwise but I am still hopeful.

If you want to ware the Emperor's new clothes that's fine with me. The fact is our defence IS poor and on occasion IT IS a shambles - even with Kompany fit! Indeed I have seen nothing to think it will improve either. More importantly, the defensive tactics are not generating sufficient chances and goals away from home to justify the changes (currently these figures are worse than last year BTW).

All the changes that Pellegrini have made defensively will ONLY work if the AM's and strikers press the opposition a hell of a sight better than they are. The ineffective pressing results in balls down field that we are struggling to defend against. If that changes it may improve. If it doesn't we're fucked for a place in the CL next year.

Ain't that the truth.
I guess we could discuss his excellent hair and fantastic suits.

His suits were bespoke Ermenegildo Zegna. His shirts were hand stitched double cuffed Bivalino's. His shoes were hand made by Fratelli Borgioli. His ties custom made by Steffano Ricci and his hair... oh his hair! He was just far to damn classy - he just had to go!
