Tried to stay away as been busy and find that international fortnight results in stuff just being dragged out unnecessarily, however having flick-read the last few pages it has to be said that SHB has confirmed his position as a comedy poster and fib is an utter loon.

I'll admit I have doubts about MP but am not going to lose the plot quite so quickly as some on here, it truly is unreal some of the shite posted over the last few days.

Spot on with your comments.....there really are some sad idiots on this board.
About 40 pages of this thread is pointless tripe. People should just make their point, and we can then choose to agree or disagree, in which case reply courteously if the reader thinks there is a comment to be made which adds to the discussion. Name calling or other insults does nothing to add to a forum, other than to illustrate the foolishness of the person who chooses to respond this way. The best way to respond to a controversial point is to think like a barrister and to prod into an argument. Eventually, the perpetrator will undo his own argument and then we can all move on.

And that is the adult response to being proven to be wrong. Like a little kid screaming "not fair, doesn't count".

He does have a valid point though. The 1st and 2nd place teams in that league are almost known before the season begins. It's just which order the season ends that is up for debate.

That was the only other European League that Pellegrini has managed in; do either of you see the irony there. Even more ironic then that Pellegrini manged to split the two horses with Villareal.

So what we seem to get is that his record in spain can't count because it is a two horse race and of course all his trophies in South America count for nothing.

I never denied his abilities in Spain, and his record too in South America is a worthy one. Mugs do not manage River Plate. The point, though, that I am agreeing with him is that Real and Barca are European giants, let alone giants in their own league, and the finishing order can be predicted as each season begins, just as it could in Scotland before the Rangers demise. There will be the odd occasion when another team breaks the mould such as Ferguson did at Aberdeen, but these interruptions never stand the test of time. For this reason, the point made that Real Madrid's defence record not really being valid is a worthy one, although I will accept that Madrid's defence record did markedly improve from Pellegrinis appointment.

But the finishing order in Spain couldn't be predicted when Pellegrini came second with Villareal and, btw he had a very decent defensive record in some of his seasons at Villareal; especially as he didn't have the resources to match Real Madrid.

He had a very good defensive record at Real Madrid; if you and anyone else wants to dismiss it, go ahead but, as people earlier today wanted to point out about City's defensive record, the goals against column is a fact. It was also a goals against record that was appropriate for Real Madrid.

Don't know who's betting on what, but I want in. If one of you is really dumb enough to bet against us making top four, this will be easy money. Screw your Euros though, I'll put $2,500 on us making top 4

Shite?? What is shite is our away points tally. They are the hold card facts. 4 out of 18.
We can play all the pretty one touch ticka tacka football in the world but I'd rather have 3 pts. Sorry but I thought it was about points on the board. Of course it would be nice to do it the correct way but all these unlucky stories are just excuses for not being able to put away so called lesser opposition.
The annoying thing is that the league is clearly there for the taking this season and although the opposition has certainly got stronger, our squad is clearly the strongest yet we are still struggling to make an impact away from home.

It's actually 4 from 18.
That point or goal difference maybe crucial at the end of the season.
