We can assume that Soriano and Txiki are responsible for the press reports that Pellegrini is safe for now, but what does Khaldoon think?

Considering they all had a board meeting together yesterday and wouldn't leak this stuff off of their own backs, Khaldoon and the Sheikh obviously think the same.

To be honest, I get the impression whatever disappointment may well exist with regards Pellegrini and his hand in our underperformance, there is absolute outright fury at the levels of commitment shown by certain players. They will without doubt be fucked off whereas a decision about Pellegrini will be much more considered and will be taken with one eye on who they can replace him with and when.

Everyone keeps looking at this from one angle - Pellegrini's gotta go. However it's worth looking at it from the club's point of view. You've got a shortlist of three candidates who you feel are the best people to succeed Pellegrini - but for whatever reason all three of them aren't prepared to come this summer. But, one of them (or all of them) is prepared to sign up for summer of 2016 now. Do you then sack Pellegrini for 12 months of drift? No you don't, and no the club won't.

It's going to come down to whether one of the three they want, they get. If they don't, there won't be a change this summer.

It's tiresome, boring and says much about what you think about the members of this forum.

If he's safe I don't think I'll renew. He really has done my head in this season.
* 4-4-2 regardless of the opposition.
* The 60 min sub.
* Continually pissing around with the defence.
* The high defensive line when we don't have the midfield to support it.
* Continually banging his head against the wall with the same formation & tactics.
* Continually picking players who let him down again and again.
* counter attacking that is so slow it is almost glacial.

Nope. I come a long way to watch City and I really haven't enjoyed many games this season. He is more to blame than the players.

So after backing the players to the hilt against one manager (who'd produced better results) we've decided it actually was the players after all and we're going to back a manager who seems almost completely ineffectual at instilling any sort of motivation in the players - after all that's why the board are apparently furious.

The difference between now and two years ago is that the players are two years older and two trophies heavier. The same hunger isn't there for whatever reasons. Sad but true.

So we'll bring in a lot of new players to play under a manager who has only one season left who the new manager might not even want.

Lets be honest, if we got out and sign players like Sterling, Debruyne, Pogba, etc it won't really matter who chose them, I'd say any manager coming in would be delighted to have them as opposed to say Nasri, Milner, and Toure. But it's definitely the one thing which needs to be gotten right. More so than the managerial situation. Who Begiristain manages to bring to the club in terms of players will dictate his immediate future.

We're doing this because we don't have the imagination/flexibility to look beyond 3 managers which really calls into question how fluid and seamless the purported changes of manager under our consistent D o F actually is if it's so unworkable with every manager on the planet bar 3.

Who says anything is unworkable? All I said was that City won't sack Pellegrini if they can't get one of their top 3 managerial targets this summer. It may well be that they've already got the guy they want, Pellegrini already knows he's out the door this summer, but because everyone involved currently has games and points to play for it makes little sense saying anything either publicly or privately.
That's a very balanced response MA, it's interesting to see some of your points.

The players though while all those might be welcome it's not hard to think the optimal players for Ancelotti / Klopp / Guardiola are not the same and god forbid Pellegrini buys the right men for a 4-4-2 which you'd have to imagine will leave with him when he does go. In fact I'm mildly concerned Bony is already the next square peg in the squad.

I don't want to start an arguement here, but how long have you had a season ticket for? We've had plenty of shit seasons in the past, one disappointing this and that's it?

This is coming from a non season ticket holder here, I've got other commitments and live a 300 mile round trip from the etihad. On the waiting list though and will be there for all our league games next season. I'm just curios to why people are turning there backs on city with very promising times ahead.

Some people on here need to look at the problem..
It's not Pellegrini...

It's all down to Yaya Toure..

We had this coming since the disgrace in the summer with his contract...

We had it with tevez.... Ballotelli...

It's because he is paid a ransom per week and he can't put a full 90 mins in..
He's lazy... Can't track back.. Has a turning circle defensively like a tugboat..

He causes the defensive problem full stop.

Fernandino is covering 2 positions..
The defence is totally open once they pass dinho...

Sell him and I bet we are not as bad as everyone is claiming...

We lost the derby for the above reasons..

Remember Pellers has managed real...

He's decent.. We have been restricted with FFP..

Come sun night... It'll be a lot better ;)

Do you think it was his problem when he was at the African Nations and we couldn't win a game?

I actually agree that he's been a disgrace the last few weeks and definitely needs binning in the summer, but to put the entire season on his shoulders is bollocks.

Spot on. I'm looking forward to us hiring Rafa for no other reason than to see how he manages to spin something he said would never ever happen. .

Nah the cabal have got their 'man in Monaco' along with the 'Deepthroat from Didsbury' - they know more than Khaldoon

25 years out of the last 40. Not from 1983-1987,1993-1999 and 2002-2007 as I was working abroad on all occasions.
I really haven't enjoyed this season at all and frankly as Pellers does my head in I'd prefer to be with my grandchildren and spend the money on them.

Can we cut out the unnecessary drama and name calling please

People are entitled to their own opinions and people are equally entitled to debate them, but lets leave out the raking up of what people have said in the past, it's a forum it's not life and death

We are not pissing about, this is the final warning folks

Think you read something that wasn't there then mate.

His post wasn't displaying any form of ITK knowledge and he was presenting a hypothetical scenario to illustrate his greater point
