Discussion: Manuel Pellegrini 2015/16

Roll on the summer when this board can hopefully for the first time in years pretty much get behind the manager as one.
I think we were all behind Manuel from the start of his second season. Coming off the back of a double and a couple of what we thought were decent signings it seemed we'd finally cracked it. A manager who wants to play on the front foot but also very good with the players - what wasn't to love?
Unfortunately we've got progressively poorer in that time and it stands to reason that some folk aren't going to be overly happy.
With a bit of luck Pep will be the one who finally combines all of the good aspects of management that we've only seen in parts so far. Time will tell.

I said that our points total was the lowest for 5 seasons and MP's defenders came back with all sorts of figures to say that was disingenuous as we were only 3 points behind the leaders blah, blah, blah.

Well here's the table with our results against each team:

We haven't beaten any team above tomorrow's opponents and have just 2 points from the games against the other 6 teams in the top seven. I'l say it again, I don't care what other teams have done - for us, it's not good enough.

Precisely, when you see it in that format its fucking staggering, we've scored 5 goals in total against Arsenal,Leicester,Spurs,West Ham,Rags,Stoke, Palace & Liverpool.

5 goals in 8 games!

Cannon fodder is a different story though when we are playing at home.

Another shit disingenuous post so you can stamp your foot and say "not good enough". If you want to discuss it like an adult send me a PM.

Hahahahaha! Who the fuck do you think you are? Discuss like an adult? Have you read your own posts over the last few years on the subject of managers?
You're a right one you Billy Boy.

Pretty much and I fully acknowledge its an extreme over simplification but then there's so many binary posters on here who see managers purely as "genius" or "fraud" and who mistake their own personal preference on how a team should set up with actual incompetence.

I guess it's just reached a point where with Pellegrini on his way and us knowing we are getting the best manager in the world I expected people to be a bit more considered and a bit more positive. More fool me. Yesterday's muppet fest about how Pellegrini doesn't coach the players was really the bottom of the barrel being reached.

I'm with you there, mate. How has our guarantee getting our biggest non-player target in recent history.... managed to make everyone less patient? So weird.

Haha, it was pretty bad. But ah well, like blueinsa says; we'll finally be able to get behind the manager as one big forum come next year. Maybe we should get some RAWK totalitarianism going too. Start forcing people to say Boyata was world class under pain of perma-ban! Certainly might help our siege mentality haha
