Discussion: Manuel Pellegrini 2015/16

He has one tactic and that's getting everyone bombing forward and then running slowly back when we've lost the ball.

Delph out the left, never mind playing in the first place, had to be for shits and giggles; a parting experiment.

If you stop the picture in many instances during that game, it's exactly the same as we would have looked two years ago, apart from where Silva was stood, would have been Negredo or Dzeko. Manuel has conned folks into believing he's playing a different system, but when we lost the ball, it was often, Delph left, De Bruyne right, Silva further up, wrong side of the ball, with Aguero.

So we have half fit Aguero, with diddy Dave, where we would have had Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo & prior to that, Tevez. Yaya & Fern behind, two years older & no Kompany. Two dodgy as fuck cbs instead. Vs Seville away, the one time we looked solidish, it was more like a 433.

There's no pont people like me moaning about Pellegrini's choices now he's going (thank fuck) but imo, he might as well be true to himself & play the way he knows rather than giving in to us the media, etc etc & trying to play a different way. He's Kevin Keegan. he might as well just admit it do it, & see what happens.

Plays Yaya as a holding midfielder, Delph on the wing, silva as a no10 NOOOO IT SHOULD have been: Delph as the holding midfielder, Yaya as the no10 and silva on the wing instead.

And yet some of you are saying "can't blame pellegrini" oh yes we fucking can!! Baffling

Rough calculations. In 45 of MP's 134 games in charge, we've conceded 2 or more games. More than 1 in 3.

A real black mark.

Anyone else think we should go back to playing 4-4-2?

I think it's clear that Pellegrini has no idea how to manage a team in the 4-2-3-1 formation, that's why he took so long to make that switch in the first place.

Go 4-4-2 with De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Delph, Silva; Aguero, Bony and just go all out attack. We can't defend or play 4-2-3-1 under Pellegrini.

Leave the 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 until next summer when we bring in a manager who has a clue how to play it.

Ha, just posted exactly this before reading that.We are ending up with a shit 442 or 4222 anyway, so we might as well have two proper strikers doing it.

Kevin Keegan?
This clown is not even Alan Ball.

This team has continually regressed under his tenure and it will continue to do so.
The sooner he goes the better for all concerned.

What actually happens during our training sessions?

If our performances since September are any inclination of that then it would seem that all we do is repeat the same passage of set plays on a loop and sod all else.

Keep the ball when under no pressure - Pass it backwards when under pressure - knock the ball to the winger out wide - who then passes to the over lapping full back - instead of running into the box, the winger will drop back - full back will then either cross to the first defender or play it back to the winger - winger will then pass inside to Yaya or Silva who will look for an intricate pass which never comes off. Then repeat for 90 mins.

We have a chronic lack of movement and creativity from our players which is criminal when we are fielding the likes of Silva, KDB and Sterling.
