Anyone else think we should go back to playing 4-4-2?

I think it's clear that Pellegrini has no idea how to manage a team in the 4-2-3-1 formation, that's why he took so long to make that switch in the first place.

Go 4-4-2 with De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Delph, Silva; Aguero, Bony and just go all out attack. We can't defend or play 4-2-3-1 under Pellegrini.

Leave the 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 until next summer when we bring in a manager who has a clue how to play it.

Sorry did you actually think he started with 4 2 3 1? He decided in his wisdom to play delph left and kdb right with dinho and toure in a 2 man central midfield, silva was number 10 behind aguero

Our manager decided that 4 4 2 with delph on the left and silva not dropping into midfield was the way to go away to Arsenal

If you stop the picture in many instances during that game, it's exactly the same as we would have looked two years ago, apart from where Silva was stood, would have been Negredo or Dzeko. Manuel has conned folks into believing he's playing a different system, but when we lost the ball, it was often, Delph left, De Bruyne right, Silva further up, wrong side of the ball, with Aguero.

So we have half fit Aguero, with diddy Dave, where we would have had Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo & prior to that, Tevez. Yaya & Fern behind, two years older & no Kompany. Two dodgy as fuck cbs instead. Vs Seville away, the one time we looked solidish, it was more like a 433.

There's no pont people like me moaning about Pellegrini's choices now he's going (thank fuck) but imo, he might as well be true to himself & play the way he knows rather than giving in to us the media, us lot etc etc & trying to play a different way. He's Kevin Keegan. he might as well just admit it do it, & see what happens.
I don't believe we played a different system or formation. Literally straight from kick off Silva and Aguero went up top together. However, putting the headless chicken that is Delph out on the left was as practical as sticking Demichelis out there. Other than "Fuck it, I'm away in a few months anyway" I don't see his logic.

Pellegrini has the calamitous ability to consistently get less than the sum of the parts out of the players at his disposal.

Arsenal have a flying right winger with pace to burn? Nevermind, play Kolarov, his lack of pace and positional discipline won't matter if we have trust. Delph had a left foot, so he plays him left wing. But he was dreadful there against Swansea? Nevermind, it's important to have trust. Ozil is Arsenal's in form player, any special plans for him now Yaya'slegs are going? No, just have trust. Silva is being man marked again and completely nullified, just like Arsenal did to him last year. Pellegrini's answer? Trust.

A complete charlatan, stealing a living. Can't wait for a proper manager next season, fingers crossed Pellegrini ends up at Chelsea. His dedication to the high line with Terry and Cahill will be football comedy gold, bet Danny Baker is licking his lips!

Plays Yaya as a holding midfielder, Delph on the wing, silva as a no10 NOOOO IT SHOULD have been: Delph as the holding midfielder, Yaya as the no10 and silva on the wing instead.

And yet some of you are saying "can't blame pellegrini" oh yes we fucking can!! Baffling

Spot on. We didn't buy Delph to play on the left so it made no sense to play him there in such an important match.

Same old rectoric from Pelle. Nothing about keeping clean sheets just bad luck and more bollock!

A couple of wins against the Mackems and Leicester and we'll be hanging on the Gooner's coat tails waiting for their wobble. Pellegrini will be top tactician again and everyone will be happy.
Merry Christmas.

Do you seriously believe we will beat Leicester?

If txixi can sit there and think he's done well he's deluded.
If pellegrini thinks you can win titles defending as we do he's deluded.

For all the possession we looked toothless and hart has yet again kept the score down. The back 4 is appalling. We look unfit as a squad. His use of Delph on the left baffling. Silva wasted. Aguero nowhere near fit enough. It's just depressing that Leicester are 5 pts clear.

Wenger decided to play flaming close to silva to try and nullify him, pellekeegan obviously was unaware you can do this kind of thing and let Ozil have plenty of space behind toure, go figure
