I like the idea of Sabella, he is tactically top notch and his man management is very good as well.

I think the club knows there are not many managers going o be available in the summer and I think they know someone like Sabella would be happy to come in and be a bridge manager for a season or two.

I admire Ancelotti but I am not convinced he could build a young team and develop it, he is the ultimate cup manager like Mourinho in that you give them the tools they require, mostly in experienced pro's and they usually deliver.

I'm surprised to be saying this, but I think I've actually come around to the idea of Jorge Jesus being linked with us. I doubt it will happen despite the links in the media a few weeks ago, as he's a Mancini-esque nutter, but he's really turned me around this year with his managerial ability. The team he has this year is truly average, yet he's somehow managed to compete with a far superior Porto team while playing some absolutely outstanding attacking football. I have to give him his due, as I've been hugely critical of the crazy old man in the past, but these past two years he's shown a tactical versatility that I truly didn't think he possessed. If he can hang on this year, it will be his third league title with almost 3 entirely different sides, playing in entirely different ways, which I have to admit is impressive.

You know, that's a good shout. It would be interesting to see how we do at a team like ours. He's reached two Europa League finals on in a row, and been pretty unlucky in both (Chelsea, last minute Ivanovic header, Sevilla on penalties), won the title with Braga, and if he can beat Porto to the top, it would be an impressive achievement. Plus, he might kill Sherwood.

Can't be bothered catching up with the thread, but am wondering if peeps are still suggesting we should get Pochettino at this stage in his career?

Thanks for the link to the MEN I hadn't seen that on here before. I think the BBC link only adds to the debate though none of it is absolute fact. Mainly speculation and hearsay.

Do you think it would be a good appointment?

BTW did I miss the joke?

'Strong rumours' being broadcasted in the middle of the night is what I was laughing at.

I don't care who we get for the iterim or if we stick with Pellegrini, so long as we get Pep for the long term.

Never gonna happen.

Thank you for your opinion.

Rafa had a pretty decent blog that showed how astute and tactically intelligent he was

He's a very good manager. If he looked like George Clooney he'd probably be fairly rated, but once he got the Fat Spanish Waiter tag that was that.

He'd win trophies at City but he does not seem to be the guy City would turn to.

Let's hope not. I'm not sure which is more depressing the thought of keeping Pellers or getting Benitez to replace him!
