Discussion: Potential Pellegrini Replacements {merged}

At the end of last season the players were all smiles and bouncing Pellegrini up and down, it looked like complete harmony in the camp.

Then we get the usual Yaya rubbish in the close season and the World Cup on the other side of the world.

We start without our strongest eleven and bumble along with Pellegrini constantly chopping and changing the team especially the defence.

Yaya is well off his best but keeps getting picked as does Dzeko the players stop acting as a team and become a bunch of individuals.

Pellegrini sits on his hands and does not get to grips with the problems and they begin to snowball, and every team is filled with confidence they can beat us.

We get the odd peculiar refereeing decision and Pellegrini says nothing so every official feels at ease when they take our games and do not think twice before making controversial decisions.

The players start to care less and know the manager is a soft touch, some of the prima donnas throw their toys out of the pram and the situation gets worse.

Bad purchases, bad management and disinterested & down right dishonest players have got us where we are today - there must be a purge all round.

This would be the biggest Bundesliga sensation of the year ...

Jürgen Klopp wants to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer!

Klopp has asked BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke to grant him an early release from his contract, which runs until 2018. Klopp feels exhausted after seven years and three titles (2x League Champions, 1x Cup) - and his first thought is to take a break. And then, a move to the Premiere League?

Bild understands Thomas Kuchel will replace him. Kuchel was originally slated to join Hamburg as early as this week, but no agreement was reached. Because of Dortmund? BVB has supposedly offered him a 4-year contract with a salary of up to 20 million euros. All that's missing is the final agreement.

The main factor for Klopp's upcoming departure is his disastrous season with Dortmund: embarrassingly knocked out of the CL by Juventus, and a league campaign which has seen them first facing relegation fears, and now a 37 point gap between them and rivals Bayern.

Cracks have appeared between players and coaches. Amongst other things, Klopp had a public set-to with former captain Sebastien Kehl, following a 3-1 defeat at Gladbach. The relationships between Klopp, chairman Watzke and director of football Michael Zorc are also said to have suffered in recent months, with disagreements becoming more and more frequent. As far back as Christmas, this famous 'triangle' was showing cracks.

Zorc had first approached Tuchel in April 2014 - after Klopp had first asked to be released from his contract, when was presented with an offer of an obscene amount of money by a club in England.

Klopp's time as the face of BVB is at an end. Tuchel's will soon begin. The former Mainz coach (2009-2014) had been chased by many clubs since leaving FSV at the end of last season - and if he joins Dortmund, this will mark the end of his sabbatical year, and the start of Klopp's.

I'm a Bundesliga journalist so to speak, and BILD are often highly accurate.

According to rumours he sick that his best players are getting buyed out. He had a clash with dortmund , who wants to sell hummels and gundogan to united.

If we drop points against West Ham or Villa, Pellegrini must be sacked on the spot. Vieira and Kidd would take over until the summer where we either choose a stopgap until Guardiola or appoint for the longer term.
Of course.

Was really stupid not to make the change yesterday, because the next two fixtures would have given Vieira a flying start and I'm certain we would have won them and straight away we'd be thinking of 3rd not 4th. If we have to change then Vieira will get away games and real pressure

Do they really think Pellegrini is staying through the Summer? I don't understand their thinking or logic. The only way to rationalise it is if they think Vieira isn't the football man we think he is. The other option is that they actually rate Pellegrini. Watching City at the moment is like watching a team with a really bad coach.
If you appoint Vieira then shuffling him off again in the summer becomes a bit of an insult. Perhaps the club want a more favourable succession for Paddy.

The club have done the sensible thing. They've not panicked like most on here and worried about top 4. They've though - right we've a 4pt gap to 5th with a point in hand due to goal difference. We've got winnable games remaining and a manager who has taken this club on consistent winning runs before and can do again. They will have told him that unless we finish in the top 3 he is in serious trouble of losing his job. They can't sack him now, as then they face serious questions should we finish outside the top 4 because of having an inadequate manager replacing him. Vieira needs to be brought in as a no.2 and then progress in my opinion. He needs to be given a clean start, not pick up pieces now and be judged based on 6 games with high stakes.

Txiki go for it, must do it.

It would be pretty unethical if Klopp had asked to be released on the understanding he would take a sabbatical, and then walked straight in the manager's chair here.

Somehow, I'd live with it, tho.

Interesting.

You'd imagine Klopp is leaving with a destination in mind.

I could see this happening, he'd definitely be an upgrade on Pellegrini.
