City's long-term aim is Pep, 2016. Klopp would mean scrapping that. Liverpool/Utd bedded in with their managers.

Fuck....

There's no way we'd turn down a definite for a possible. Either we have Guardiola's signature somewhere or we're in for Klopp and briefing against it

I hope to god you are right because otherwise this could be the biggest mistake made by the club since the takeover.

If Pep isn't 100% nailed on then we have to at least be considering Klopp... even if Pep is 100% nailed on we should still be considering Klopp

If Txiki and co let an available Klopp pass just so we can try for Pep in a years time with no guarantees he'll be available then sorry to all the Txikiboppers but he'll have fucked up something serious.

Gladly I doubt they'd take that risk.

If it's true that we're keeping Pellegrini for another year, just because Txiki thinks Pep might consider coming the season after the next, while Klopp actually is available this summer, he can fuck right off.

Putting all the eggs in one basket is insane thinking, unless Pep actually has promised Txiki to manage us.

Either way, I'd still prefer getting Klopp this summer. We simply can't afford to let Pellegrini stay for another year IMO.

This could be a clever move by Klopp, knowing we're after Pep in a year but putting himself on the market now in a 'you can have Pep next year or me now". Gives the club a real dilemma. However either of the following works well I think, Klopp now and for the next 4-5 years or Ancelloti now for 1 season and Pep for 3-4 after that. I think we're in a pretty strong position

Dont know how reliable this website is, am I just grasping at straws?

If it's the Pep 2016 plan we still may need to change our manager for a year IMO. This deterioration is not acceptable and even with this mentally questionable bunch of players we should be doing better - they wanted Mancini's head on a spike and he still had us finishing 2nd.

If we wait another year for Pep and let a manager like Klopp go elsewhere, then any confidence I have in Begiristain would evapourate. It would be a monumentally fucking stupid thing to do.

Not speaking on your behalf, the club.

Don't think you do.

Ok mouth. If the club completely deny he is being considered then employ him it mugs them off as lying can u see this? Sometimes when a club denies things it's because it's true.
Have you not been following football for long? The games littered with denials from clubs which then become reality. From players leaving, not leaving, signing contracts, not signing contracts to managers professing their love for their job one minute then gone the next.
It's all part of the game. There's so many moving parts behind the scenes that only a handful of people are ever truly aware of what's going on - even then, such is the nature of the sport things can often change at the last minute.

City would be absolutely mental to publicly throw their hat in the ring regarding Klopp at this stage, and judging from the people in charge, mental isn't a word I'd associate with them.
This appointment, if it happens will be perfect for us. He fits what I personally want in a manager to a tee. Not scared to fight tooth and nail for his team, takes no prisoners. Passionate and most importantly a winner who knows his football.
Make it happen City.

So we look like mugs when we do appoint him.

You need to look at the subtleties of the press release and highlight the words 'at this stage'

This hints at a degree of flexibilty with the stance that we have initally taken.

It dampens down the speculation while the current incumbant can get on with securing the 12 points needed from this clusterfuck of a season.

I would agree, but as far as I can see there is no press release only the story on Sky which as I posted a couple of pages back said according to Sky SOURCES not City Sources.

Yes, someone from SKY would have rang their contact at CITY , who off the record said we had no plans to change the manager at this stage.

Hence the SKY sources, as this wont have officially come from CITY
