Re: Is Txiki building the platform for Pep's arrival?

Has someone really just suggested that Pep Guardiola's Barca team were 'awful to watch' ?

I wonder how that opinion would be rated, on a poll of the world's football fans.

I also think that Bayern were pretty good to watch when we played them at the Etihad last season. In fact it was one of the best performances i watched all season, & City were fucking brilliant quite often.

At one point of the guardiola era, the football was on another level to anything I've seen. I think as an neutral or opposition fan, it was quite tedious at times. But when they was in full flow, they was a joy to watch. I love how he gets the players to push so high up and not letting the opposition have a second on the ball. If we managed to get pep, he would instantly put us amongst bayern, madrid and barca. That's my opiniom abyway.

Looks like he's building a platform for Tony Pulis to me.

Our recent signings ARE more Pulis than Pep. Technically limited big strong guys.

That's what I'm getting at! I think Pulis is the man to lead us into next season. Onwards and upwards...

Club shop would get a boost.

The criterea imo

a) play good, attacking football
b) have the balls to make big decisions on big players
c) have the balls to give youth players a chance
d) be tactically flexible when need be
a) Guardiola at Barca and Bayern
b) Guardiola benched or sold the following at their peaks Ibrahimovic, Mueller, Shweinsteiger, Gotze, Eto'o, Ronaldihno etc.
c) Guardiola, promoted youth players a lot at Barca, not as much at Bayern. If you are good enough, you'd play.
d) Guardiola at Barca and Bayern- He adjusts his tactics like no mans business.
So in short, Guardiola is the man.

Agree, but is he a realistic option this summer though?

Can we afford to wait another year with Pellegrini in charge?

Re: Discussion: Potential Pellegrini Replacements

Short of the most mind blowing summer transfer window the world has ever seen, I have no idea why Pep would want to leave Bayern for us either this summer or the next. We are quite a ways away from being the sort of level Pep would risk his reputation on.
