There's nobody to replace Pellegrini this year.

Ancelotti isn't doing well and also has a poor league record.

The ideal candidate is Pep, who may only leave Bayern if they don't win the CL.
Just Serie A, Premier League and Ligue 1 he's won.

He'll have to comfort himself with the 3 Champions Leagues he's won.

When you judge the season you can only question the management. A lot on here argue we had a weak summer window but we didn't. We started off better than last year after the summer window. Fernando is better than Garcia, Mangala is a top defender and the rest were reinforcements for the squad. The problem is, why hasn't Mangala started every game? Why are we starting a 34 year old in Demichelis instead, why are we relying on a 36 year old in Lampard coming on or even starting instead of Milner playing every game. In fact against Burnley Milner couldn't even get on the bench, why?? Yes we had Barcelona to save ourselves for but we lost to Burnley and we lost to Barcelona, it isn't a system that is working is it?

I blame inconsistent selections for this season. Kolarov for example has had a very poor season but he was great last year. These players are not performing because they aren't settling into any kind of form. When you have a different defence and don't play for weeks, you are bound to find it difficult. Mangala and Kompany should of started every single game, the same goes for our full backs and only form or injuries should dictate selection. Instead we see a completely different team every week so there is no competition and there is no connection between each game to gain some form.

The reaction of some players when they have been subbed recently says it all, I think the players have had enough of being rotated and want to play but they are being prevented from doing so.

We need to get either Pep or Simeone for me, both are proven managers and fit very well into making the most out of everything they have.
Demichelis is much better than mangala though? And has been better than kompany for the last year.

I rate Ancelotti highly, his Chumps League record is good, his domestic cup record is good, however, 3 league titles in 16 years given the clubs he's managed isn't, even allowing for the problems at Juve.

Far more chance of him pitching up than Pep though.

I wouldn't mind us winning a FA cup/League cup while coming in top 4 in the league if it meant winning the continent's biggest trophy.

Re: Discussion: Potential Pellegrini Replacements

How often do you see a big club not replace a manager because they can't find an alternative?

This whole waiting for Pep nonsense looks like a lovesick girlfriend just waiting by the phone for that boy who clearly isn't interested in her. If Pep won't come, we can't put the project on hold until he has a change of heart. Surely there must be an alternative.

Nail on the head BH.

He'l probably end up at the rags or go back to Barca when his contracts up.

Revista- Simeoni has signed 5 yr deal with AM
Ancoletti is for the chop at the end of the season

Re: Discussion: Potential Pellegrini Replacements

A 6 million release clause. Sounds to me that Simeone is waiting on us. He knows that it is going to be an uphill struggle with Atletico. Barca and Madrid just keep getting richer.

We are waiting to see how Pellegrini responds over the next few weeks. Finish 4th and Diego will be our next manager.

I am sure Ancelotti would like the job too. But despite what some of the cognoscenti on here think about Txiki and Co not wanting Simeone I think they underestimate how much Mansour wants to win and he will have been distinctly unimpressed by Pellegrini this season.
