Right now the team hasn't had the best season and people want to discuss that. It's not ingratitude it's what football fans, pundits etc the World over do.

With respect this is a cop out of the highest order. We've discussed to death, that's the problem. 442 vs 433. Txiki's signings. Pellegrini. Our youth system. Viera. For this season it's all been said. Which is why we're now getting this fucking absolute nonsense about how the club's "waiting for Pep" and how this is actually going to ruin us somehow. Reaching for negativity where there is none.

As I say, there comes a point where discussion and criticism morphs into ingratitude and entitlement and for me parts of our supporter base are there. I'm not in the slightest bit arsed who that offends either or how many loyalty points they have.

I don't think I've ever mentioned Pep?

This is true, like I said earlier though I apologise if you think i've been unfair on you. I was expressing some general frustration in your direction even if in some parts the cap doesn't fit so to speak. ;)

I think there was..... :)

We've had a chat about this thread, and decided that all 'new manager' threads should be merged into one, since we don't have a vacancy, and its purely speculation.

Also since Simeone has signed a new contract at Atletico, we've locked that one.

As for the manager, it is obvious that we will still regress with Pelegrini, no matter how much money he could spend.

There are some managers out there who would fit us and who might leave this summer - Klopp and Ancelotti. If we appoint one of them we won't need Pep... I can't figure out why are City obsessed with him so much. Yes, he is considered as one of the best managers, but both Anelotti and Klopp have their successful philosophies (which include youngsters going through), play good football, win trophies, can motivate the team and both have suceed in the uCL

I feel uneasy with Ancelotti.

He's terrific in Europe. But to win La Decima, he had a front 3 of Bale, Ronaldo and Di Maria. Their sheer speed and firepower ripped teams to shreds.

We have no one like those 3. We don't even have the personnel to play counterattacking football. The players required to play like that would be very expensive to purchase. We would need both speed up front and highly accurate long passing, technical midfielders (like Modric and especially Xabi Alonso). Only Yaya and maybe Aguero would suit that style. Many Real fans think the loss of Alonso is why their play is worse this year. So every piece of the puzzle is crucial for Ancelotti.

What is the plan when he gets here? I get that we anticipate a rebuild of sorts, but 200m might be well short of the funds required to play effectively in Ancelotti's system.
