I'm not sure about that to be honest, he certainly got rough ride and slated by our supporters during his time here and was also around the same age as Mangala is when he left
and still can't defend properly.

Boateng was a good footballer but a shithouse defender when he was here. Mangala is not a good footballer. That's not going to change.I'm not sure about that to be honest, he certainly got rough ride and slated by our supporters during his time here and was also around the same age as Mangala is when he left
Signing players is a hit & miss business however good you are at the job, same with judging the potential of young players.
These guys are gathering iinfo as best they can then best guessing whether the player will fit on he strength of that. Some are better at it than others. Ours are doing ok compared to the average imo. Players are expensive, & some don't live up to their reputations or just need a different league or team to suit them.
Only if you consider United and Liverpool average.
Can't agree with that. We have won 2 titles & two cups, almost entirely down to signings. We have hardly any 'home produced' players in those squads. Our signings must have been way above the average.
Which world class home grown players have the other amazingly wonderful, so,classy premier league clubs produced? Tell me which clubs in recent years have won the league without 'signing players'? You make it sound as if we've cheated in winning those things.
