I've never said any were a waste of resources mate

To be honest I don't know - I'm not a director of football ; that's what Txiki is on a huge salary for

What is so hard for you to understand?

Do you agree we need to improve the midfield ? At the end of last season most would have said yes

I think Delph will prove a lot of people wrong. It's an incredibly small sample but I was very pleased with how the midfield looked against Real Madrid when he was on the pitch.

Of course we have. The signing of Sterling has changed the whole dynamic of the midfield (ref G Neville, Monday night), let alone the signing of Delph. De Bruyne would be icing.

One of our main problems was passing for hours in front of a packed defence. We have introduced much more directness.
