Disgrace???

My daughter works in hospitality at City, purchases her OWN season ticket yet misses virtually all the games, she's a true fan and wants her OWN season ticket, no freebies not even a discount, so for these people to moan....well....

But she wasn't told she would get free tickets when she took the job

Azul-It is called getting into the real world..Big business shitting on its empoyees!!! I don't fucking think so.

I think so

Not at all-Explain why they should be entitled to 2 free season tickets?

I have had my terms and conditions of employment/pension changed recently so whats the issue? If they don't like it they should just resign...Still getting it half price so what's the problem?

So were you happy about your changes? I work in the public sector so I know all about it.

I'm not saying they are entitled to anything except what they have been promised. I am pissed off about my changes so they have a right to be as well

However as I said earlier, going to the papers demonstrates a lack of class

They should say that they can have tickets for £15 each but they have to pay up front in cash but they will recieve it all back at the end of the season, so in effect it is still free but they will have to sacrifice.
That should show which staff really want a ticket.

I know a full blown rag working at our ground full time. I asked him about whether he got free tickets and he told me no... ( lying cnut ) I also asked why he didn't apply for the same job at the swamp and he told me that the wages at the swamp are shite, City pay well. I told him I couldn't work at OT as it would be only a matter of time before I was caught sabotaging something.

But why wouldn't that irk you. If you entered a salary negotiation with the impression that a perk with a very clear monetary value was going to continue and hence accepted a lower salary as a consequence why wouldn't that be an issue? Removal of perks can be an backdoor means for an employer to implement pay cuts mid-contract. Too many people are willing to accept a race to the bottom in this country in pay and conditions. It's farcical that we're so willing to bend over and take it up the arse. I might post on this matter later.

But the club have said they will be compensated in other ways

From the club statement on the issue.

"In order to fund enhancements of existing staff benefits or introduce wider, more flexible benefits it may be necessary to amend the way in which staff access season cards. In addition to financial compensation, staff would also have the opportunity to purchase season tickets at a discounted rate."

Seems like no-one is going to lose anything. I suppose if not every member of staff wants to receive ST's then they now have the choice.

But the club also told the employees they would receive free tickets and have gone back on it so why should they be believed when they say the employees will be financially compensated.

And as for all these rags working for the club who get tickets and sell them on, it is now entering the York away urban myth scenario

If they are to be compensated financially then they can spend that on the half price season tickets they are entitled to. So they are exactly where they were originally. However this way the tickets actually get sold which in turn contributes to our revenue for FFP purposes. However small this may be it all helps.

Any employee who didn't really want a ST now gets extra cash to spend how they wish.

Doesn't sound too bad when it gets explained like that does it?

If a condition of employment is changed, in a reputable business it is done in consultation with employee representatives. I see nothing to suggest that this is not being done in this case and it seems that alternative perks are being offered to replace the free tickets. The employee that went to the press should be identified and sacked for tarnishing the reputation of his employer. My guess is that he has been making a few quid selling his free tickets and is upset that he can't do this any more.

Are you really naive enough to believe a football club's statement on anything? Votes of confidence in managers etc

They are being financially compensated in other ways and that is straight from the horses mouth.
