Disgraceful Journalism again by MUEN

Pellegrini bad news for City's English players!
He's not even here yet let alone left English players out of his team.
No author to the MUEN article but it is virtually word for word to that of Joe Bernstein in todys Fail on Sunday.
How low can this so called newspaper stoop.

Just seen a pro Pellegrini article in MUEN by Red Brennan

Does that mean I have to retract! NO IT DOESN'T!

If we had a squad full of lads from Manchester they would be doing a report on how racist the club us.

Well lets have a look. All games this season = 52.
Milner. Starts = 25 = 48%
Lescott " = 23 = 44%
Barry " = 37 = 71%
Surely I don`t have to prove Sinclair ???? ;)
Richards, too many injuries, but I think Bobby would not have used him on a regular basis ahead of Zabs.
OK I hold my hand up ref Barry but the overall picture shows that our previous manager didn`t fully rate Milner or Lescott, but they were certainly good enough as "stand ins".

Where did you get these stats?
And could you include Nasri, Dzeko, Auguero, Tevez, Clichy, Kompany, Silva and Nastasic.

Hard to compare if there arent any players to compare with.

From the last programme of the season,Norwich.
By the way numpty, you should read the thread,we are talking about English players only.

Namecalling. Well after reading your post I know what level you are at.

If you dont compare all players, how are you gonna decide who is a benchwarmer and who is not.
And at what magical percentage are you considered a benchwarmer or not.
And if you come in as a substitute, well you arent on the bench anymore.
Instead you bring something to the team effort. Does that count or not.

Well your post have so many flaws and if you actually did make up your mind on that unsufficient information the laugh is on you.

Could City even fill a starting eleven using your logic?

A team full of benchwarmers. No wonder United won and City got knocked out from the UCL group.

This article looks at one side of the argument and one side only based on total guesswork and a few paragraphs of a slightly more detailed argument in the Daily Mail (not that I agree with that article either). It doesn't mention anything about moving Rodwell further up the field where he's more effective, it doesn't mention anything about Milner's excellent attitude to not being a regular starter and it certainly doesn't mention that Lescott is the wrong side of 30 to be playing week-in week-out ahead of one of the best young centre-backs in the world. It also fails to mention the fact that, on average, we'll be playing a game every 4-5 days next season if things go to plan so squad rotation will play a huge part next season.

I don't think it's "disgraceful journalism" in the way that it's a negative story about City because every club has to deal with poor articles than can be argued against easily - it's a piece of disgraceful journalism because it's just a very short, unsubstantiated opinion. If we're talking specifically about sports journalism - the biggest problem with a lot of it is a lack of passion for writing, which results in pieces like this being written to do nothing more than fill pages. Authors of articles such as this one are unfortunately more interested in gaining hits through controversy rather than skilled, informative writing.

I seem to remember10/15 years ago,the greatest, richest club on Gods earth had the greatest,bestest,world-beating squad of English youngsters coming through their youth set-up.Getting old now, memory not so good, but, could you tell me how many World Cups,European Nations Cups we actually won, come on lads the PRESS scum told us every sodding issue that they were great, you must remember. On another point Sir Trevor Brooking having been in his job for over 10 years was responsible for the improvement of the English youth set-up.A complete and utter failure, and still says it will take another 10 years to sort it out.(presumeably with him on a fat pay package),Personally I thinkthe youth players do not practicethe skills enough. To much time on the x-box and computers.

I think this topic deserves to be in another thread, mate. English football has a lot of problems that stem back to the 60s.

Ah diddums a numpty and he gets all hurt !! Bwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
fucking read the thread soft boy.We are making comparisons against the article on England players within the squad,no fucker else.
Unsufficient ?? WTF !!
We are discussing starts not substitutions, thats the whole point of the debate. These players will not get as much minutes playing time as they have done in the past.Whats so difficult to understand about that ??

Can I just say I was unaware of this article until someone tweeted me about it, and even then I did not read it.
Now I have read it, I agree that it is a nonsense re-hash of a poor Mail story, and does us no credit.
It is clearly marked "Gossip", a tool we use to indicate stories that are in other sections of the press, but reading it, it appears to be the MEN's view, or even my view, which I can assure you, it is not.
I have spoken to the lad who is handling the sports section of the website today, and he has agreed to take the piece down.
In my opinion, this piece should not have been used at all, but when we did, it should have been flagged up as a Mail story.
City do this themselves, in the "What the Papers Say" section of their website, but this was a poor effort.
Apologies

Fair play to you.
