Do you agree with the announcement timing of pep to city?

It merely affords Pellers with an excuse. He was being cute when he announced what was going on. The team were floundering and he knew that the media were on his side. The fact is, we have been shit for past 2 seasons and getting worse.

Don't like the timing, but also think there wasn't any choice once Bayern forced his hand, the speculation would have got silly.

I'm with you on this.

I don't think the club had any option, but to announce it.

The speculation would have intensified and driven us all mad.

yes. Would have been more damaging otherwise and the players and manager's subsequent downing of tools isn't excused by it. In fact, in terms of the long-term future of the club weeding out the hangers on in the public eye was the best thing for us. The club is taking its medicine for the mistakes it's made in the past few years, and it'll be better for it.

Guordiola deal was annouced on feb 1st and pl standings on feb 3rd.

(24 games each)

1: Leicster : 50
2: City : 47
3: Spurs : 45
4: Arsenal :45

Not being an appologist just think we made a mistake with timing of annoucement

If people are blaming the Pep announcement for our poor form then they're letting Pellegrini and the players get away some absolute dreck.

We didn't make the Pep announcement before Burnley or Crystal Palace away last season and by the time we announced him as manager we'd already gone three months without winning consecutive league games.

We'd still be performing as terribly as we are now if we'd never announced Pep as manager - it's not affected Bayern too much, why should it affect us?

I've actually managed to pinpoint the moment it all started going wrong: Burnley at home last season. 2-0 up, cruising towards an 8th consecutive league win and heading back to the top of the table, and then two sucker punches in the second half pulled it back to 2-2 and we dropped points at home against a team who were eventually relegated.

Ever since then we've been producing results that would start to make more sense if you replaced our name with "Arsenal". Dropping points at home willy nilly, pitiful away defeats to Burnley, Crystal Palace and United, turning up and putting a run together when the title was out of reach. This season was just a continuation of our form from that point onwards.

After we won the title in 2014 there was an interview with Nasri - I forget which newspaper it was in - and he described Pellegrini as "Wenger's brother". We should have known from that moment but we didn't listen because of how good we'd looked at points in the 13/14 season. Oh well.
