I didn't mean to hurt her - I just wanted her to be quiet until the police went away but she wouldn't stop trying to get away and scream. It just goes to show that sometimes it's ok to hit kids in some circumstances , but whenever I look at that new concrete floor in the cellar I still get sad and don't think I could ever sell this house TBH.

How anybody can hit/smack any part of there childs body in beyond me, discipline is fine bur there are plenty of way to do this without what is essentially violence.

Yes I do have a child and there is nothing he could do that would make me want to smack him.

He is only 10 though so ill come back to this thread after his teenage years :)

There is no handbook on how to bring kids up. Most folk just try their best, no wrong way or right way. You just want them to turn out decent adults, unlike those scumbags in the youtube clip. I'm lucky my kids are now 27 and 25, they've never been in bother with the law, and are good lads. I couldn't have asked for better.

They behaved. Now 23 and 21 . . . . I still threaten them with it but no need because they're good girls.
