Do you care about being considered a 'big' team?

By any metric you can think of, City are now a giant of European football. Although, not that I care that much.
People who bring out such debates are just using it as a coping mechanism in my opinion.

In truth EVERY club is big to the fans who support them, otherwise what's the point? You'd have everybody supporting just a few clubs and the rest would go out of existence.

Personally I think being a big team = being consulted by the PL when they appoint new people like Masters, like utd and lfc are, that sort of thing. They'll never do that.

All that shows is that have a small minded mentality.

All across social media, rags, dips, tarquins and the odd villa, spurs etc supporter will call us a small team and say we'll never be as big as united/their team/in general no matter what we do.

I don't know about anyone else, but I have and probably will never care about being a 'big' team. I've seen what being a 'big' team means. It mean being like the red shirt cartel.

We have solid local support, and that's something I appreciate the most about us. Salt of the earth Mancunians, and even surrounding areas that have been going for years and supporting us at rock bottom. Supporters of those teams say they've been there for the downs, but their downs are finishing midtable, ours were Division 2 and the fabled York City result. They don't get it, and never will.

But what are your thoughts?

Means nothing.

City are now so much bigger than the likes of Villa and Spurs it's laughable.

Been a match going fan since watching us lose 4-3 to Wolves at Maine Road. Watched us in the 3rd tier losing to the likes of Stockport County, listening to their fans telling us they were the 2nd biggest team in Manchester. Travelled to Istanbul to see us complete the treble and to Athens to win the club World Cup. In my eyes we have always been the biggest and the best. Don’t give a flying fuck what the self entitled elite red cartel or social media say or think. They can all go and screw themselves at least 115 times!!!!!

I remember my Dad telling me about a match at Wolves in the early 60's, could of been the 50's, where we got battered 8-0 and Bert Trautman got the man of the match.

Played like Luton Town against us. It worked, they got lucky, they shit themselves that night. All they wanted to do was get to penalties.
