Does anyone still buy a tv license?

They just came round and after identifying themselves i simply said 'i don't wish to talk about this thankyou and good day' he just said 'ok' and toddled off. I have also written to the bbc to remove assumed access from my property for their staff and sub contractors or affiliates. The dog kept them out the garden but still this helps.

Good man.Remove their implied right of access and they cannot come to see you for 2 years.
The only people who get prosecuted are the ones who let them in and then sign a tvl 178 form to self incriminate themselves.
Why not offer them a nice cup of tea and a bakewell slice well your at it eh ?

You do not need a tv licence if you do not watch live tv as it's broadcasted.
However the beeb have now changed the anti.
it is now an offence for a person to watch or download BBC iPlayer on demand programmes in a property that is not covered by a valid TV licence.

The bbc offers tremendous value for money and you should always buy a licence if it is required.

I have a TV licence due to being a socially responsible member of society!

Good man.And as a heads up if your struggling to make ends meet you can now pay for your licence weekly.
Its easier to make smaller payments and better for Auntie so they can responsibly redistribute your licence money.
Like spending £50,000 on employees missed 536 cab rides, 838 train journeys and 63 hotel rooms empty all at license fee payers expense.
I think they should try harder in the distribution of customers money.
Everyone happy with the beebs current fiscal spending.

So the response to investigators is now "I only watch Netflix and Youtube".

I personally do not watch BBC productions, not watched motd for 2 years. I use the news website about as much as i do sky news or reuters. Unless sky say i have to pay 150 quid a year to read their news site and others i can't square away the BBC saying i have to pay 150 quid. Any tech news is on theregister often days before the BBC has it and i end up reading what i already know. No matter how i look at it i can't see how i need to pay anything close to that. The last thing i watched was Peaky Blinders and i had my license then.

If the beeb said 'ten quid a year for the news website' then fair enough that would be acceptable, but 150 quid is way beyond what use i get and i dislike being taken for a mug so i can't bring myself to pay it. If your household uses it a lot then far enough but i just don't watch tv very much at all really, let alone BBC.

wrong thing to do TCIB is to remove there implied rights of access. the licence resistance forum stongly advises not to as it can trigger a search warrant, a simple do one via the letter box will do with no more comunication, the last one that came to my place was lucky enough to catch me in the garden i told him to jog on and he said they will be back so i said sit on the garden wall if you like, that was 3 years ago so i'm doing ok but there due to return around now

Not posted it yet luckily hehe, i'll just leave the dogs out more, they kept the bugger at bay well enough :-) k so don't send the letter, got it and thanks for the advice.

I am not some tight sod, i just feel being told i have to pay 150 quid for something i genuinely never use. If i pay it i'd never forgive myself and it would nag at me i just did what the system says.
