Dominic Cummings

Er, I think you'll find I did. And yes, it bores me.

I could not figure out why people were so bothered about this, and rationalising it, I think it is because I don't feel even slightly put out by the government's lock down, so I am not even slightly put out that someone close to government ignored it. If the government had been saying "it's alright, you can drive 200 miles to visit your Mum", I wouldn't have been doing it anyway. So whether they required it or not, is supremely irrelevant.

I suppose if someone was pissed off that the government was asking them to stay in whilst they were itching to go out, then they might have a different perspective. But then such people are idiots.
Oh dear..

You mean like someone that had lost a parent, partner or child to COVID and wanted to attend the funeral?

Did Boris also break the law by choosing his 2nd home to recover after CV treatment or is that different?

It's definitely different. One involves a most likely infectious person knowingly taking the virus to his workplace, followed by a speculative trip up north to get away from it all. The second involves somebody who is no longer infectious recuperating having just left intensive care.

The line between downing st and chequers being dwelling places and or places of work combined with how much the PM was keeping abreast of matters, is probably blurry enough to accommodate the PM's movements. But I don't think anybody would seriously be calling him, or anyone else, for convalescing while no longer infectious in a healthier environment than a city centre having being in intensive care. The reason people are angry with Cummings is that he clearly broke rules and put people at risk at the same time.

Everyone calling each other cunts and arguing on the interpretation of lockdown guidance. For me the problem was that lockdown was 2-3 weeks late, and that most of it was guidance/advice rather than the Govt having the balls to declare the UK shut apart from food supply and emergency services. To be fair, they said they wanted to flatten the curve, not reduce its internal area (fatalities).
Wasn't 'guidance' when the council phoned me 2 weeks ago and told me to shut my shop or get a fine.

So it now transpires that Cummings owns 50% of the farm he stayed at in Durham and that his company (Klute Limited number 07472305) is registered to that address.

The very same farm (co owned by Cummings , his parents and one other) have been claiming 20,000 euros per year in Eu farming subsidies .

So essentially he was travelling to his second home , (another point he failed to mention) in clear contravention of the law.
Good work if true.
