the current owners are never going to hand back ownership to the fans, they've spent too much to buy the clubs.
its a pointless, academic debate
To be honest I wouldn´t like City to be owned by the fans, not the fans on the matchday threads anyway ;-)
A less academic subject is the fact that Bayern got two sponsors as part owners, that is a can of worms if we think about it in regards to club ownerships.
What to stop ten sponsors from owning a slice each?
Would the usual 50+1 ownership vote down anything that their ten biggest sponsors suggest?
10 sponsors would be ten opinions, or? With each only having 4,9 per cent...
Audi and Adidas just act strategic in owning a part of Bayern. For Audi it rules out every other car partner out of the sponsoring pool for the future (Munich is BMW-city - Audi is in Ingolstadt) and Adidas is a partner since the 60s. Nobody of them wants to rule the club - it only connects them more with the club.
And why should they want to interfere. There is no club in the world that has had a better lead in the last 30 years.
