The police couldn't stop it happening all they'd do is escort us I could be wrong though. Someone should try and organise it

Dortmund fans pay around 9 euros to stand on the Südtribüne. That's the only reason they turn up, just like at Bayern, you can stand for a 10er. Believe me, German grounds would not fill if they thought they were bein ripped off. It's real value for money. Proper dirt cheap and you can get a pint throughout the game, you can use your match ticket to get free public transport and so on, and so on.

In Munich you can get served a beer without leaving your seat, a guy with a container on his back comes around and pours you a pint and you pay with a pre-paid card.

Tbf the main part of my post was some advice for a City fan, the Dortmund bit was just an afterthought.

I'm doing Hanover-Twente (Europa League) on the Thursday and Dusseldord-Hamburg on the Friday. Looking for a Saturday game and I've never been to Mainz. Might do something in which the English are definitely the World Champions. Go without a ticket and still get in.

If I were you I'd pick another of the Saturday games mate, with Mainz being such a small ground there won't be many tickets floating about.
Schalke - Frankfurt and Bayern - Hannover are also sold out but there are far more likely to be a few tickets for sale outside.

Or of the cavalcade of missed sitters by mighty Bayern against that Chelsea

Hi Lads,
Like I said in one of the other CL topics, too many threads regarding the same topic ;-)..Never mind.

1. CL after post view: First of all thanks for your hospitality. As a first time Manchester I would be happy to return to the City one of these days. I only can encourage you guys to come to Dortmund for the return game and stay in Dortmund for a night or two and have a good time, it will be worth it. 2. Regarding a possible get together and March in Dortmund. I guess there will be a 'Welcome Party' in the town square for Manchester City fans as it was for Ajax Amsterdam Fans. Regarding a march, it is possible in general, although for the Amsterdam Fans it was not allowed for the entire route. But I think you should get via your Fan organization as early as possible in contact with the police if you want to do something like that.

3. Regarding ticket prices. There has been a movement now for a couple of years against high ticket prices <a class="postlink" href="http://kein-zwanni.de/en/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://kein-zwanni.de/en/index.html</a> because it is a fairytale that everything is so cheap in Germany. We are having prices increases over the last years in the double digit area and also in Dortmund you have to pay more than in 'the good old days' to go into the stadium. So would be great if English football could do a similar campaign because we have to get the game of football back to where it really belongs, the people.

I'm not sure what that all has to do with the point being made though tbh. I didn't bring up Dortmund's recent poor performances against Bayern, HSV and Frankfurt either, we were discussing excuses and rants not performances on the pitch.
Also to be poor in finals you have to get to them, and everyone has an off day, including us.

Any other 'older' fans rememeber meeting up near the Star pub off Chester Rd and marching on to the swamp? Them were the days.

The Dortmund fans were overrated - Napoli showed more passion and Poznan were louder. It's alright having someone with a mullet and a loudspeaker telling you which of your 6 songs you should sing but they'd be fucked if they ever had an 'Alan', 'Grandma' or even a 'Berti' situation. Obviously I'm biased but no other club does spontiniety or humour like us.

Well said mate.

We're staying at Hotel Tryp, near the University for the return game. I'm trying to do every Bundesliga ground this season so I might need a few Dortmund connections for tickets.
One thing occurred to me on Wednesday. A lot of German teams have a freindship with another club, often from the same division. It's completely alien to the English, but Shalke sell FC Nurnburg souvenirs in their own Club Shop and visa versa.
Do Dortmund have a second club?
