Not sure of the 70s, but that’s what City used in the 80s and 90s.

Eg. Redmond number 6, Reid number 4.

No, I think the last time Gundogan, Kovacic & KDB were better players than Luiz was a couple of seasons ago.

He didnt say as a number 6 did he. He is also better than all 3 at being Brazilian.

As a player though, sorry he is not better than Kevin Gundogan or even Kovacic.

For what we need from him he absolutely is.....he is and can play as a number 6...that's what we are missing

what we need at present is defensive cover...he was Villa's player of the year.

he is very solid defensively, can cover the ground and will stop those counters on us when the likes of Rico, Gundo etc look like they are wading through concrete. He needs to just be able to keep it simple....we have been blessed with Rodri who can basically do it allbut he is a bit of a unicorn of a footballer....

If not Luiz who do you suggest that is attainable and better?

It was a total different system at villa. The style and system we play pep obviously didn't think he was able to play it for us otherwise he would have stayed with us?? Zubemendi would be the 1 for me if we could convince him to move!! Other than that I think we stick with what we have and probably add a number 8 maybe Luiz think him an kovacic are very similar more of 8s pressers and ball carrier's.
