i can't tell you how fortunate i was.
ridiculously large vinyl collection (punk, alternative, new wave, dub) to delve into while growing up.

after that gig he regularly took me to gigs.
i was underage by a long way but he knew people on the doors round town.
as you say, a lucky lad, and i appreciate it.

On 6 music now they are playing the majestic The Last Broadcast in full. Seen the band many times and had some great nights. Let's hope they can get some new stuff going soon

Don't see why not. I always see this album as very much a partner to Lost Souls in that they are darker than what came afterwards. Elbow get plenty of bashing but their early albums are very good. I wouldn't say The Last Broadcast is a better album than Lost Souls just different. Saw Elbow at Delemere Forest supported by I Am Kloot and Jimi was backstage so I know they're good friends
