Drinking on your own in a pub

I think when you work away a lot you just get used to it, love sitting down with a pint of "premium beer" a paper and my own company, drinking "premium beer" could make that a prerequisite mind:)

Your right Wanky - It has to be "Premium" - If not then it's just not the same is it! - I'm quiet fond of the "Premium" Japanese lagers myself.. Although when the sun's out and you fancy sitting in the beer garden then a "Premium" Italian lager doesn't go a miss either.

None the less I can't stress enough the importance that it has to be a "Premium" drop and none of that carling or john smiths bollocks!

What is this deserved thing you get by drinking Fosters?

Certainly aint a hangover unless you manage to force about two dozen of them down.

All of them.

Any good ones? I'm tired of soulless bars and want to visit and be a regular at pubs even if it means going on my own.

Well eveyone likes different shit but a few I quite like in town:

The Vine
The City
Waterhouse, Wetherspoons.... All next door to each other, just off St.Peters Sq.

Ape and Apple, just off Deansgate.

Monroes, London Road, right outside Piccadilly Station.

The Angel, Corner of Rochdale Road/ Angel St.

Crown and Anchor, Shambles Sq.

Castle, Oldham St.

Shakespheare, Fountain St.

Good call.
I have been in all of those in the past month, with the exception of Monroes, which I vowed never to enter ever again after a scary 20 stone drag queen threatened to kill me because I wouldn't buy cocaine off him.
Or her.
The Vine and the City are my favourites - great beer, mad regulars, and bar staff who phone me a taxi when I fall over.
What's not to like?

Having a nice quiet pint now, overlooking the river dee with lots of rowing crews queuing up to practice/race whilst listening to patti smith
A lovely evening only spoiled by the morons in the pub

-- Thu May 02, 2013 6:12 pm --

What about the Marble Arch and Bar Fringe in Suedehill and the Crown and Anchor at dale street?

Have a pint in the pub while my clothes are drying in the laundrette, I buy the paper and sit in the corner and I am only 20, perfectly normal. For some reason I wouldn't buy food on my own though.

My old job saw me travelling around Wales, the South West and the Midlands delivering leaflets to pubs on my own. So went into about 30-40 a day on my bill, occasionally i'd stop for a pint of coke if they had a decent quiz machine.

I prefer going out alone sometimes its great and you get to meet more people than when you go with others.

Probably do it this bank holiday at some point.

I'll eat on my own in Spoons or something but normally only breakfast. Most of the drunks are in there already and they're sitting alone too. Such a sociable place.
