Drinking on your own in a pub

Couple of nice pubs near me, well all are apart form the J.D Wetherspoons so I think nothing of going for a couple on my own, quite enjoy sitting with my own thought enjoying a pint
Which lasts longer - the thought or the pint?

Used ot do it myself when I was down in London. There was a cracking pub across the road from where I stayed so was always happy to go over for some grub and a couple of glasses of wine or pints. Knew the landlady and all the staff, plus got to know quite a few of the regulars. It was a nice cosy place and could spend a couple of hours reading the papers, doing some work or just chilling.

I don't go out much these days but going out alone never bothered me. I used to work away a lot and there was never much to do aside from going to the pub of an evening. Most of the time you get chatting with someone. I was staying in a pub in Glasgow once and I'd finished early because I had to be in Edinburgh for 8am, filming an international rugby match with the BBC. I went in the bar at 4pm with the intention of getting rat arsed before the disco started at 9pm, so I could get to sleep before the music started. I met a couple of blokes at the bar who I did a job with in Warrington the week before and we got fucking plastered. I stumbled to bed at 3am. How the fuck I made work I'll never know.

Been going into pubs on my own for years, especially over the last 5 years since my wife did one.

I tend to watch away games in a pub where I sometimes go alone but then I'm surrounded by Blues so it's not quite the same as being alone.

I've holidayed abroad on my own for the last 5 years, sometimes twice a year and I must admit it can be lonely at times but then I often enjoy my own company.

Nowt wrong with going in a pub with only yourself for company, thousands of us do it.

My two drinking mates cried off on Saturday , leaving me to either stay in or go out on my own , I did the latter . Had a mini pub crawl and really enjoyed it.. Never been fazed about drinking on my own in a pub.

I work abroad mostly so often go to pubs, restaurants and the cinema on my tod. It's either that or stay in some shitty hotel. Plus the only way of making new friends is by going out.

It's slightly more tricky down in London because the social cohesion here is poor. People simply aren't anywhere near as friendly as they are elsewhere and they tend to keep themselves to themselves. However, I find if you're polite and smile then people will usually, but not always, reciprocate.

I've always appreciated it when people have offered the hand of friendship to me.
