Dunne and Dusted

Hes not gone yet!

I think the wages City players are now on makes it difficult for the buying clubs to make it their while to join.

Maybe because they failed to qualify in Euro cup... probably not, but still worth a laugh. :D

Martin O'Neill claims that Aston Villa are not 'remotely close' to completing a deal for Manchester City defender Richard Dunne.
Dunne was reportedly heading to Villa Park yesterday to hold talks with O'Neill about a possible move away from Eastlands but the Villa boss has today played down any reports claiming a deal was close to being done.
"We are looking to try and reinforce the team between now and the transfer deadline and bring people in with experience and a bit of know-how," said O'Neill.
"That is my intention and whatever is available for us, I will attempt to do.

"Is the Dunne deal close? No, nothing is remotely close at all."

"He (Dunne) has been here today (Friday) for talks. As we speak, the deal has not been completed. Normally these days there are quite a lot of issues to be sorted out but overall we have had a good chat.

"I would be hopeful he will sign for us some time today or tomorrow. I am hopeful but until pen is put to paper we will have to wait."

Well he has to now. I'm not sure if having a former captain and first-team regular hanging around in the background and not even getting on the bench (and he won't) is a good idea...

This could be a pointless debate, but hey ho, how do you figure that dunney would not get on the bench? He was in the team ahead of ned, so surely the natural decision would be for dunne to go on the bench and ned to be left to fight for a spot on the bench
