One day you'll eat those words gooney. I just hope it's when he's banging them in for City rather than for someone else...like Spuds for example.

I am saying that cause I know soon enough he will score tons of goals in the Prem, and I'm hoping he does it in City.

The sad part is that, if he was ever to actually read this thread, I bet he'd be tempted to just get the fuck off this club and play for some competitor...and do it for free considering the amount of shit he gets here :-)

This thread is over 1000 pages long :-).

He reads this forum. Believe me I know.

He reads this forum. Believe me I know.

Sure, right after the Game he was searching the Player ratings Theard.

Re: Dzeko

I feel genuinely sorry for the guy.

It is obvious that Dzeko is a player who will thrive on balls into the box yet we play without wingers. He is a quality player whose assets are being completed negated by our style of play. To get the best out of him we are going to have to play 4-4-2 with two genuine wingers who can put decent crosses into the box. This means forgetting about trying to convert the likes of Richards and Kolarov into wingers. It means forgetting about playing the likes of AJ on the right where his natural tendency is to cut inside. It means forgetting about playing 2 defensive midfielders every game no matter who we are playing, especially at home!

Lets judge Dzeko when he is actually given a fair crack of the whip! If we started smashing long balls up to Tevez people on here would knock the style of play and not Carlos. Dzeko should be afforded the same courtesy!

Strange that £50m striker from Chelsea who had a poor game didn't get slated too on MOTD?

Wow what a load of crap. The prem's current top scorer is Berbatov and he has 0 pace.

Edin does read here (As does Kolarov). He also used to read the Wolfsburg forum when he was there.

Dzeko.

Put 2 or 3 crosses in for him, he'll score one, maybe 2.

Yesterday he had one real chance made for him.

He isn't Tevez. he doesn't play deep, make runs wide, and create chances for others. He's a finisher, and a fucking good one at that.

But he looks poor, because we have no-one putting half decent crosses in.

when you say crosses do you mean a right footed cross from the right wing having got behind the defense or from a left foot cross from the right wing after just crossing the half way line which is the type of ball bob seems to prefer
The first one.

Like others have said, why bother paying huge money for a striker who scores goals for fun playing one way, and then try to play him in a completely different way?

Adebayor was more effective in this system because he naturally drifts. Dzeko will not thrive unless there is a complete overhall of our style of play.

Re: Dzeko

I was excited when we signed Dzeko because he was just awesome in Germany, when I watched the games he was the ultimate big man upfront. When we signed him I thought that's it, AJ, Kolarov, Milner and SWP will be bombing balls into the box. For some reason Mancini is trying to make him drift out and come deep, why. This isn't Dzeko's game. It's bullshit. He's possibly the best target man in the game and we're making him come to the halfway line and drifting him out wide. Let him play his game ffs Mancini.

But to do that we'd have to completely change our system.

Which ain't gonna happen with 10 games left.

Re: Dzeko

He is a great player who likes to win but his greatest burden is the price payed for him. Every time he plays he tries to give his best because he respects fans and want to prove himself a good investment. Unfortunately, he didn't found confidence yet, but as soon as he do, and as soon as he gets the right service, he'll start banging them for fun.

It would be difficult for everyone to adapt and give your best when you're constantly slagged by media (after every minute you play), but what is worse, slagged by your own fans even when you're scoring (Aris, Noots F.).

I pay respect to the blues that are reasonable and can actually "understand" football. Those are the ones who support every player even if team loses. He will improve, get better, and score goals for them, not for some bunch of kids who are used to understand football only on Playstation or XboX.

Re: Dzeko

We will simply see the best out of Edin if Mourinho comes in. Jose likes to play with a big man up top always.

Drogba
Milito and he also wanted Adebayor for real madrid too which he got.

Dzeko would be the man for mourinho he would play to his strenghts and score bag fulls!!

I think it would be Carlos Tevez, in his full glory.
