I take Carroll 10 times out of 10 over Dzeko. I don't care who is playing in which shirt. Just my honest opinion on two premier league forwards.

Although I'm a staunch Dzeko defender, he'd have not scored Carroll's screamer which did well to dispell the myth Carroll can only head the ball, when in fact he is quite good with his feet.

I watched Carroll when he was at Newcastle and one hell of a left-foot he's got and it's this left-foot coupled with his heading qualities that makes him a fearsome forward in the PL. Anyone who thinks that Carroll only can head a ball, definitely does not know his game.

The same can be said about Edin. During the Aris game, we can all see what goals he can produce with his feet. He just need to find his feet in the PL.

Re: Dzeko

I agree entirely the lad just needs time and some decent service in to the box, he worked really hard last night he was chasing down lost causes most of the night. Its all well and good saying he gives the ball away every time but who wouldnt with 3 defenders on him every time??, he had no support and not a single decent cross that was anywhere near him all night so for me i think its unfair to judge him. Also i believe that if he is on the field we need AJ on left and SWP on the right or AK and MR firing crosses in for him to get on to or the poor lad is sadly going to be a failure at city and it wont be his fault!.

Re: for all dzeko haters....

he's been abysmal so far, as I predicted.

Samaras scored plenty in a decent Dutch league. Bianchi scored a few in Italy, as did Corradi. So what.

the thing that hurts about this rip-off more than the others is that Steve Mclaren was involved in stitching us up, he had us over the barrel. It didn't worry the owners and management that the player's own boss as Wolfsburg was talking him up saying he'd do really well at City? Nobody smelt a rat at that point??
Deary me.

Re: for all dzeko haters....

Although I am not a fan of Dzeko and I am very critical of his footballing ability, which is poor beyond question, I do not hate the guy. In fact far from it, he comes across as a guy with a top attitude and as being a gent. And at the end of the day I truly hope he pulls it together and succeeds at City because he has the kind of mentality and attitude that City need.

how about supplying the lad with crosses???...there was an 18 year old rookie playing last night begging to be roasted and crosses put in-how many times did we do that???- we can,t knock edin until we play to his strengths....

He should be knockin' Carroll into a cocked hat with performance and goal tally. 68 goals in two and a half seasons in the Bundesliga tells its own story.
Yes, that the Bundesliga is SHEEEIIIIIITTTTE...
If he was up against defenders like Boateng no wonder he filled his boots

Re: for all dzeko haters....

the PL is a unique league beyond question-it,s fast,no time, high tempo....anyone expecting a lad from a totally differently setup league and hit the ground running straight away are either very naive or lacking heavily in football knowledge.....

Yeah the Prem is really strong...Liverpool knocked out by Braga, City knocked out by Kiev and Man U knocked out by Munich last year.

Such a strong league!! LOL.

Behave.

Dzeko kept us in the Europa league and FA Cup.

Re: for all dzeko haters....

how many stupid comments in one place, ffs he tried very hard last night, its not his fault that team played like shit. imo its all about manager, team motivation is something city is missing at the moment, not the mention bobbys tactics and the fact that he changes first eleven significantly in every game, look at Barca, one or two changes per game. Dzeko is a great player, and if he doesnt make it at city, he sure will somewhere else. cheers

Re: for all dzeko haters....

You can look at it this way too:

Let's say we beat the rags on saturday, and go on to win the Cup.

That'd make Dzeko already worth the money spent as his goal @Notts kept our assess in the Cup in the first place, and allowed us TO EVEN PLAY ON SATURDAY!

Agreed?
