Dzeko, Tevez and the system

If we are to play Tevez and Dzeko,i honestly don't see where Silva fits into the team without weakening us.If we had interchangeable pacey midfielders of the quality of Fabregas and Nasri then he'd be great,however.....

Please show me.

Why do we suddenly need to drastically change our tactics after 1 defeat?

Massive over-reaction, Dzeko simply needs to get up to speed and gain a bit of an understanding with his team-mates and if he's as good as people on here say he is, then he'll start banging them in.

All this talk about 4-4-2 is bollocks, why change a formation that got us to second in the league purely because we couldnt break down a team who parked the bus away from home?

It's not just that one game though is it? that's the one that really highlighted our deficiencies but the signs have been there for a while that the team is lacking real quality,Everton did a number on us and Arsenal ripped us apart ffs.

Not much of an answer to three questions, is it?

Here is slightly more: 4-3-1-2. Look it up. The lists have been circulating around for days in several topics, I didn't see your contribution there...

Pretty much 3 defensive minded midfielders. It didnt work against aston villa.

We need more width.

Great as the backbone. Johnson, Milner, Zaba, Balo on the bench or as stand-ins as needed... Assuming proper gelling, hard to beat.

Looks great on paper,in reality it lacks urgency and invention especially from the 3 midfielders, the two full backs also lack the pace and quality to get forward and support them and the front line.

We simply don't have the quality and pace of the other current top 4 teams to play the same system and be successful with it.

So converting to 4-4-2 is going to help our defence in what way?

Can't you just accept that our defence seems to have lost a bit of form recently?

When your team is as new as ours is you can't be expecting us to perform brilliantly week in week out, we've started to concede a few silly goals but that because in the games such as Leicester home and away, Wolves at home and now Villa the amount of different player's we've used has been huge. We've had a defence with any 4 of: Boateng, Zabaleta, Richards, Kompany, Kolo Toure, Lescott and Kolarov. With a midfield of: any 4 of, De Jong, Barry, Yaya, Silva, AJ, Milner and Vieira... Thats in just 4 recent games.

Our team needs time to gel and get used to playing with each other. Nothing more.

it didnt work against villa because they got an early goal then played with 8 CH's, and we were extremely unlucky

i think yaya has proven he likes to push further up the field which will connect the defense and the attack.

anyway you could easily replace barry with milner or johnson if you wanted it to be more forward thinking.

boateng and kolarov still have to settle , anyway i think you are right . we dont have the quality. in fact i often wrote de jong barry and kolo and tevez are NOT good enough. we need more world class players , this is the simple truth.
