But haven't Lille said they've agreed terms with 3 (or 4) clubs. Wouldn't Chelsea/United come out and deny it if they hadn't lodged bids?

I don't think so. Even if 99% of transfer targets written about aren't actually bid on, it makes for good free publicity to their fans that it looks like they're upgrading their team. They aren't going to go out and say "we're 500mil in the hole, we can't sign a player of this quality"

And it's in Lille's best interests to think the more teams interested = the more money for them.

For me I have come to a bit of a conclusion with this saga; if it was not for wages this transfer would of been over a long time ago.

Hazard is playing the clubs interested like a game of poker and for me his wages are going to have a big say so!
If he goes United then fair enough, they will have to pay him at least 150k a week anyway - what they can offer is more playing time and their so called illustious number 7 shirt!

We can challenge for serious trophies now, maybe even more than United can to some extent but he wants to have a healthy pay check and regular playing time.

Chelsea may have won the European Cup but that doesnt take away the fact they came 6th in the leauie, no permament manager as of yet and want to go ahead with some serious rebuilding!

We can offer him mich more in terms of money, better plauers around him, a strict coach who will guide him, Viera and the project - playing time will be the major isue in not getting him in my opinion

I don't think he'd struggle for playing time at all. If he adapts to the league and shows the talent he does in France it'd be Nasri who is on the bench more or Mancini could play the three of them (Silva, Hazard, Nasri) with just one forward. I can't understand any concerns over playing time, we'll be bombarded with fixtures next season, you have to assume we'll have a decent Carling Cup run, a better FA Cup run than last year (unless they heat the balls up again), and hopefully get beyond the Champions League group stage this time... meaning more fixtures and games for everyone.

Good but not even close to Ronaldo and I've heard lot of comparison with him recently.

You could see Ronaldo is going to be another level player first time you'd see him.

Can i ask you how much you've seen of him ? (Live games, youtube vids) Not trying to attack you, just asking.

As to the comparison between him and ronaldo. It's mostly because of that bit of arrogance that they both seem to have. You know just that " i'm gonna go on this field and do what i do best" kinda attitude. Both players also love to show off. He has that same trickery to create chances or to take defenders out, to just throw in tricks like it was nothing. Apart from these things he's a completely different player.

Already told this before about a hundred pages ago but to me he's a mixture of three players:
Silva: general playmaking skills,Vision ( ofcourse to a lesser extent then Silva but then again he's only 21)

Ronaldo: Trickery, Attitude(on the pitch), showing off.

Messi : Acceleration, Lots of touches on the ball while going at full speed, Keeping the ball close to his feet while running full speed. Rapidly changing direction.

To be clear i'm not saying he's already as good as these three are atm but take all three players, look at when they were 21 and look at the attributes i mentioned for each one. The 21 year old Hazard has the same level in those attributes as the 21 y old Messi, Ronaldo and Silva did.

Will he be among those players in a couple of years ? I believe he will but he has the hardest step to make, going from a worldclass talent to a worldclass player.
But he's not the new Ronaldo, the new Messi or the new Silva.
He's Eden Hazard and he'll make his own legacy.
