Different situation as Parma had no long term plan whereas we obviously do and will stay a force.

I am sure they planned on being at the top end of Italian and European football for some time,i don't think their owners at the time invested the amount of money they did for short term success only.

They were backed by a company that collapsed causing them to go into administration. Their ground holds 25,000.

I'd like to think we are a different proposition. Making history with a club going places can also counteract history. Ask Silva and Nasri!

Parmalat and it was dodgy dealing that led to the collapse of the company.

and half of the city

A thread of over 100 pages with nothing whatsoever concrete.....Can tell it's the close season....

I will believe fuck all until it comes out of Khaldoons mouth.

By the way,let Hazard join the rags,we won the league without him this season and I really don't want a big headed "prospect" at the club for over 30 million!

Much rather sign a Bale , Levezzi , RVP..

Things aren't looking good. I read this french source that says his mind was already made up on joining Man U but his agents were trying to hold him out so they could bargain bigger deals with us and Chelsea.

<a class="postlink" href="http://le10sport.com/football/france/ligue1/hazard-avantage-manchester-united-63059" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://le10sport.com/football/france/li ... ited-63059</a>

I just read this source this morning that it seems Chelsea are getting him
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.footmercato.net/premier-league/transferts/chelsea-sur-le-point-de-s-offrir-eden-hazard_85521" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.footmercato.net/premier-leag ... zard_85521</a>

However the latter source does throw out a lot of rumors per day so I would assume the first source is more solid than the second. However I don't understand how a player would consider a team without a coach and a defensive team or a team who look set to have young, nani, valencia, giggs, kagawa and him competing over 2 spots over a team that is the best team in England, plays very attractive football, going places and has 3 players playing for 2 spots.

Anyway its his choice and his career, will still hope him luck.

Well this contrary view is in the Express... sigh. The last line sounds like it was written on Ragcafe.

MANCHESTER UNITED are favourites to win the £30million scramble for Lille’s exciting Belgium international Eden Hazard.

United, Manchester City and Chelsea have all been given permission to talk to the 21-year-old forward after he plays for his country against England on Saturday.

He is expected to stay in the country after the Wembley friendly to decide which Premier League club to join.

Although United are likely to offer lower wages than City and Chelsea, sources close to the player suggest Hazard is being enticed by United’s history and standing in the game.

Lol, so its set up perfectly now since if he chooses us he's a money chasing mercenary but if he chooses them its because he's taken a pay cut for the istree

Cool your pash everyone. Just like the agents play their games to get the best for the players, so do the clubs play the media to help land the player. No one on here knows about Hazard's real intentions, his ego or his requirements. Yet some still seem intent on character assassination on someone who may still become a City player.
If I was a United agent trying to land him I think one of many tactics I would use would include quoting the fan forums about potential popularity. According to this thread many seem to dislike him already. Truth is, United thread on same player is full of hope at him arriving and the slagging off is left aimed at ' big spending City and Chelsea' .

L'Equipe reporting today that Hazard close to signing 5 year Chelsea deal.

Also saying that a switch to United isn't out of the question but a switch to City is almost dead.

How much do the rags plan to spend? Supposing the three main rumours come true...

Hazard - £32million
Kagawa - £15million
Baines - £12million

That's about £60million and they haven't even bought what they really need there, a proper midfielder, someone who can go up against Yaya. They were looking at Asamoah from Udinese but he too would cost over £10million. They're also rumoured to have had a £15million bid for Lewandowski rejected and he's a striker! It could be unprecedented spending by them (and none of this "net profit" they go on about) to try and keep up with us.
They spent £55m last Summer.

The £60m you speak of is likely to be offset by the sale of Berbatov. I think it's very likely that they will buy a striker with Berbatov on the brink of a move. If he goes they will have lost Owen and Berbatov and with hernandez having a poor season it leaves them very reliant Rooney and Welbeck.

He works for the least reliable media outlet on the interweb ? What previous does he have that leads you to recommend him please.

Its not goal reporting it.... it's L'Equipe, pretty reliable source when it comes to French football news
