I've criticised him a lot on here, and I'll stand by the belief that it was deserved at times, but I can't help but like him a fucking lot more this season. He's had a lot more consistent periods when he's played, he's in his highest scoring season for us with hopefully some more crucial goals to come, and once again he's helped tear the rags apart with two goals. Add to that he's looked a lot happier this season.

Add to that he's looked a lot happier this season.

As a confidence player, Pellegrini has managed him superbly. When he's had his bad games he's invariably kept him in the side to play his way back into form. Dzeko has benefitted from a pile of injuries to our forwards, but overall he's had a good season. I was really pleased for him the other night. He deserved it.

Edin is one of the best strikers in the world and he shouldn't be allowed to leave for less than £40 million.

Re: Edin Dzeko - don't let him think

I thought he worked his bollocks off last night, and has much more this season than previous ones. Maybe its the Beast that has brought this about as he's a hard worker, maybe its Pellers showing him more love than Bobby or a bit of both. Either way he looks much more bothered about the dirty side of the game.

I think it's a combination of Pellegrini and the fact that Fans started being more vocal about hiw work rate (both City fans and Bosnian NT ). I think the Bosnia game vs. Egypt must have been an eyeopener for Edin. Fan support is important to Edin. In the post-match interview he kept repeating how happy he was for the fans.

Pellegrini deserves a lot of credit too. This is what he said after the game "“I am very happy for him because he is a player that I think improves a lot this season, not only because he scores goals but because he is working the whole match,” Pellegrini said. “At the start of the season maybe he was not working so hard without the ball. Today I think Edin is in a very good moment, because he scored and he worked the whole match.”"

In that interview he said he was 10 before he started playing. That's late by anyone's standards. Not insurmountably late, but late nonetheless.
