Dzeko will probably be given one start after his performance today and when he doesnt score a hat-trick it will be back to the bench for him. I don't remember the last time he got 2 starts in a row.

And then it will be Mancini out.

I bet you would say the same if City had 9 points less...

Actually, I wouldn't .. just as I didn't when we were eight points adrift last season with six games to go.

You can say what you want about stats but I am really struggling to remember games where Dzeko has started and made an impact. The first one is Spurs away last season. Most games his first touch is poor, passing is erratic, shooting poor and general link up play pretty average.
Maybe a solid run of games can bring out the kind of form he showed at Wolfsburg. But then we aren't playing someone else.

Some players just do better when they come on.

this is true for your "best" duo(tevez-kun).that's why we always lose when edin on the bench :)

Mancini finally realized who is the best striker "in form" so Edin played 90 minutes. Others may play some CL or FA matches as Edin has guaranteed place in the first 11 for PL games from now on. You guys just need to tell the boss that Edin is not a winger. :). Period.

He knows. The only people that think he played as a winger are deluded folks with strong ties to a geographic region on the other side of Europe from Manchester.

Mancini finally realized who is the best striker "in form" so Edin played 90 minutes. Others may play some CL or FA matches as Edin has guaranteed place in the first 11 for PL games from now on. You guys just need to tell the boss that Edin is not a winger. :). Period.

Yes. He did precisely what he's good at today. He came on and played his part as I've stated he's wonderful doing in the past. Well taken goal from a great substitute. I'm sure you noticed that several times he was standing beside Maicon near the right touchline. So... not a winger. Not played as a winger. Just doing his job going over to the right like all our strikers do from time to time.

I know he hates the super-sub tag, but quite simply he's most lethal when he can come on and take teams apart and offer a different goal threat.

I don't understand why so many people take offense to this. No one is saying he's a shit player (well, some idiots are I suppose but every forum has them). Most of us just recognize how he fits best into our team, which at the moment is terrorizing tired defenders for the last 20 minutes of a match.

I'm guilty of that as well, although it has nothing to do with Dzeko himself. Love the guy and I'm delighted to see him bagging important goals for us.
