Re: Edin Dzeko legend

Can't blame Dzeko. It puzzles me why he was ask to play down the flanks.

One of our strikers always tries to drag defenders away from the middle of the pitch and they rotate among themselves as to who is doing that. Quite often, Dzeko was central with Balotelli dragging defenders. Then they would switch. Both worked very hard. Neither shot well.

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

Edin Dzeko has shrugged off speculation regarding his future, saying winning another title at Manchester City is his 'obsession'.

The Bosnia international has struggled to hold down a regular starting role throughout his time at the Etihad Stadium, despite costing City some £27million.

A five-goal haul this season has offered Roberto Mancini a timely reminder of his talents, but the Blues boss is blessed with a wealth of attacking options from which to select.

Dzeko appreciates as much and claims there is no substance to reports linking him with a move elsewhere, with his focus locked on adding to his medal collection with the reigning Premier League champions.

He told The Sun: "There are rumours about my future in England, Italy or Spain but I'm saying nothing.

"I am all about Manchester City and the deal I have here. It's my obsession to win the title again with City.

"Roberto Mancini is the boss and I accept his orders. He's always talking to us and is satisfied with my work.

"To play in a team like City's is easy because of the quality of my companions. Every forward thinks he should be in the team but it's up to each of us to give him problems over who he selects."

Complicated

Dzeko added: "I treat every training session as though it's a proper match to show Mancini how much I want to play.

"Obviously it's frustrating to be on the bench but that's how it is in English football. The season is long and I will get chances, so I need to be ready.

"Nobody promised me a place in a title-winning side. I was very happy with my goals at West Brom and look forward to many more.

"This season has been good and bad. I've scored some important goals but it is complicated with so many big names to choose from.

"I have good relations with all the squad but with the forwards it is special. Myself, (Carlos) Tevez, Kun Aguero or Mario (Balotelli) - we need the best combination but it's not possible without good sporting feelings for each other.

"Still, I hope to face West Ham. They've improved a lot but we need to beat them and then Ajax in the Champions League next week."

Had an off day today but he's world class IMO. I love his attitude.

Edin had a shit game but in fairness playing one-twos as a wide man isn't his game.

It's so bizarre that we keep putting players on the wings who aren't suited to being wingers (Edin, Mario, Sergio) and they often play poorly from those positions. Meanwhile our new signing Sinclair, the only genuine winger we have, doesn't get onto the pitch until injury time. The whole situation is baffling and I hope Begiristain can sort out this personnel mess.

Agreed, some of the decisions Bobby's making have been peculiar. Bringing on Sinclair for three mins is an insult to the player. Poor management.

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

Edin is fox in the box, and thats why he is not doing great outside the box.

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

I dont think him out wide is totally by instruction. He has been doing that every game since he joined, does it for bosnia and did it for wolfsburg too.

He started against Spurs last year and scored 4 goals at WHL. The lad has it in him.
One game in 2 years is simply not enough.

He's not been here two years. He joined in Jan 2011 and its now November 2012, settle down mate.

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

Regarding to Dzeko playing wide, they (Dzeko, Mario, Tevez) all played wide, majority of the time it was Tevez and Balotelli with Dzeko in the middle....

Truth be told every time he got the ball he broke up play and we slowed down.... I won't be surprised to see both Dzeko and Mario leave in the summer they're suppose to be some of Europe's top strikes yet at the moment aren't putting anywhere near the same amount of effort or performances then those of Demba Ba or Grant Holt!!

I would love to see Dzeko and Mario do really well here obviously I don't want a City player to fail that would be stupid, but most the time we need more then goals from these 2 lets be honest we have a team full of goal scorers but when we can't rely on either one to put in a decent performance then we're just relying on either one to pop up in the box at the right place at the right time, majority of the time its like being a man or 2 down when these two start.
