Edin Dzeko

Dzeko had a full international shift. Mancini was probably just giving him a rest

when it comes to starting the match, I agree, maybe he'll be featured in Madrid and that makes it two points that could explain not starting.

But to send him on in in injury time is like taking a piss really, specially when you have relatively bad result and need goal.

what vas mancini waiting for last sub (even if it wasn't dzeko) is mystery.

How is bringing him on in injury time an insult or disrespectful?

He was brought on to get a goal and he almost did.

Because if it was a meaningful attempt to win the game then he should have been on at least 10 minutes earlier. Balotelli didn't show anything all afternoon.

So the substitution wasn't an attempt to get a goal/win the game?

It didn't express a real intent to win the game, bringing him on earlier would have done.

It was almost a half-arsed last minute punt that nearly paid off.

No excuse for not giving Edin at least 20 minutes there today - plain and simple fuck up by Roberto.

We looked futile up front all day, and the guy is shit hot with 6 goals in 4 games - might give him a shot earlier, eh??

No rocket science, really....3 minutes...I mean - really?

Agreed if you were going to get Balotelli off, do it much earlier to give Dzeko a chance to prove his worth.

Regardless of whether or not he should have come on earlier, I still don't see how it is disrespectful to bring him on in injury time to get a goal.

You make it sound like Mancini had given up and just gave Dzeko some busy work
