Dzeko had a full international shift. Mancini was probably just giving him a rest

He was brought on to get a goal and he almost did.
So the substitution wasn't an attempt to get a goal/win the game?salfordblues said:pudge said:How is bringing him on in injury time an insult or disrespectful?

Because if it was a meaningful attempt to win the game then he should have been on at least 10 minutes earlier. Balotelli didn't show anything all afternoon.

We looked futile up front all day, and the guy is shit hot with 6 goals in 4 games - might give him a shot earlier, eh??
No rocket science, really....3 minutes...I mean - really?
Regardless of whether or not he should have come on earlier, I still don't see how it is disrespectful to bring him on in injury time to get a goal.salfordblues said:pudge said:So the substitution wasn't an attempt to get a goal/win the game?salfordblues said:Because if it was a meaningful attempt to win the game then he should have been on at least 10 minutes earlier. It didn't express a real intent to win the game, bringing him on earlier would have done.
It was almost a half-arsed last minute punt that nearly paid off.
