Edin's pre-FA cup final interview:

regardless of how lazy/average we think he is. he can do a job off the bench and mancini, seeing that the game was sliding away from us, should have brouhgt him on for the last 20-25 minutes. bringing him on for the last 30 seconds is laughable

Exactly.

Once Roberto took Tevez out, I could not comprehend a decision to go with one striker rest of the way and not bring Dzeko in...this game (or its finish) was made out for him.

-- Mon May 13, 2013 7:54 pm --

got a text off my ex saying she was drinking with him last night in london, said someone asked him about the cup and he just shrugged his shoulders, didnt seem too bothered and was just very drunk

Knowing him - it's the opposite of "not giving a fuck"...it's being quite upset about not being able to do anything off the bench...he should have been given a chance, not like Aguero or Tevez (or anyone) was having a blinder...

i was on the stairs as the players came past to collect their losers medals. I patted them on the back and no-one appeared more distraught than Edin, he looked close to tears, shaking his head. He cares just as much as anyone.

I just don't see bringing Tevez off, and bringing Edin on like that as calculated insults to either. Edin didn't refuse to come on, unlike Tevez (as we now know it Tevez was 100% guilty and Roberto 100% right), and whereas some might see Edin's treatment as throwing a dog and bone I don't think Edin would see it as insulting and humiliating at all!

Well, looks like people are coming to realize 2 major things I was saying all along:

1) Reason #1 for this season's failure is not up front, it's in the MIDFIELD (lack of width, and very sub-par seasons by Nasri, Barry, and Yaya).

2) Reason #2 lack of balance in our forward play - which I blame partly on Mancini, partly on front office for not getting in quality wingers. Current City must be one of the worst crossing teams around. Clichy's crossing is woeful, actually. Nasri is more in-the-middle type of player. Maicon was brought for crossess - but he's just burned out. Kolarov is good, but he hasnt played much...and so on.

Neither 1 or 2 have anything to do with Edin. I hope he stays, he truly can be (and already is) part of something great here.

But not if things stay LIKE THIS though...he is not your tika-taka forward. Never was.
And I'm not talking exclusively long crosses - just faster attacking play in general (enough of this slow build-up shit)...someone mentioned Bayern...Borussia is another example.

Eagles fan you are correct our midfield has been the problem, they have not performed.

Yaya had a nightmare on Saturday. We had a player half the size of Yaya called Gerry Gow and he would have dominated on Saturday, he was a demon.

I hope Dzeko stays but we will have to wait and see......

Ironically, it's only when sarcastic posts such as these are posted the he actually gets blamed for a defeat.

Should have come on for Sergio much, much earlier. With Tevez staying on.
The part that pisses me right off is you can just feel the happy satisfaction the Dzeko fans have when we lose and he plays little to no part.

I think that's bang out of order. Even if a lot of Dzeko fans are more fans of the player than the club, and feel that he's disrespected on this forum, and think that he could have made an impact today, to assume they're feeling "happy satisfaction" says a lot more about you than it does about them.
Horse hockey. You're a Blue. I have no problem with you. It's the people that support a player over the club that came on here and the first thing they post? Snide comments poking at people over Dzeko not getting on the pitch talking about how "useless" he was for that whole minute and so on. We just had one of our poorest showings in a long time, and that was what they wanted to put out there? There's no way that wasn't a dig. None.

I have no problem with the player (although I found that celebration annoying especially on the back of his woeful effort at Tottenham) and I have no problem with Blues who love him. The emphasis is of course on "Blues" though.

Agree about the midfield. Lots of people saying we've had lots of chances but if anyone has actually seen the chances, not a lot are clear cut.

Roberto, why Rodwell??? Why???
