You cant argue with Captain Save a Bosnian

It just does not compute

This is what gets me, some of them can be good posters as long as Dzeko does not come up in the thread, once he does, all hope is lost.
Sad really, as they could be an asset to the forum.

Glad you say "some"

Tbf I was frustrated with Edin vs Hull as he was in good positions but somehow managed to get lost in the bunch. He made a run wide and Silva gave him the ball but he somehow checked his run and went away from the ball...he was not in his element that's true...has he lost his starting spot, Pellegrini knows, has Negredo earned a start...well if Edin was calling for a start after every cameo in which he scored last season then Negredo should be granted a starting spot....against Stoke I hope it's Edin and Alvaro up top...let's wait and see how the internationals go...they both might put in some good performances...

Dzeko always seems to do well for his National team, why can he not do it for the club that pays his wages every month?
Don't give me the "teams not set up for him" bollocks, the team is not set up for Negredo but he runs his arse off and gets into positions to score, that's in just 3 games.
3 games 3 goals (one wrongly not allowed ).

Dzeko did have a poor game on Saturday and this season we have Negredo who can match his ability in the air but exceeds his ability at holding the ball up. Again his touch let him down at times and when City played the ball quickly him and Aguero often didn't seem to know who was going where. Negredo poached a couple of headers, the first he was embarrassed with and then made up for it with his goal. His touch was better and he made more of an impact. He deserves to start. Dzeko needs to back up his scoring record with decent performances consistently, no one can argue that he knows how to score but he needs to provide more for the team in games where chances are few and far between.

If anything the fast build up play with the use of wingers suits him the most...first half vs Hull was pretty much like Mancini's city, narrow and through the middle....in the second half wingers and fullbacks started putting in crosses and exploiting the wings which suited Negredo too since him and Edin are pretty much the same...

Whilst I don't disagree with your assessment regarding Dzeko's strengths and how to take advantage, we weren't too narrow in the first half against Hull. We were actually playing very wide, but our central mids couldn't hold the ball, nor could they get it to the wings. We narrowed slightly in the second half and looked much better. Again, not a criticism of the player. I think you're incorrect about our shape that half though.

It was my opinion to be honest...might have been fooled by the fact that there were almost no crosses in the first half...you explained it though...but again, as you say...that had nothing to do with the striker/s (both Edin and Sergio were cut off)...

Pellergrini was spot on subbing Dzeko at half time on Saturday . The lad should be doing a lot better than that . Still think he his a better player coming off the subs bench .

Nonsense. The only reason he seems to be better from the bench is because Aguero and Tevez were so poor, if that partnership was working and they were scoring we would have never known about Dzeko's super sub exploits. He scored 8 goals in the 1st half last season, compare that to Tevez's 4 and Aguero's 3.

And he had the least number of starts. I don't understand why people are so quick to bench him when he's playing really well. If anyone should be benched is Aguero, who's been poor for a long time.

edit: just to clarify. I think Aguero is an amazing player, but whether it's been the injuries or his divorce, he hasn't been playing at his 100% for a while now. The thing that really annoys me about Aguero is his hoging of the ball in the box, and trying to dribble it in which only works once every 10 times. Sure he scores a great goal when he does that but as stats show it's too far and few in between, think of all the assists he could be providing.

Remember the 6-1 derby win at the swamp. He came off the bench and demolished the United defence .

Remember vs Spurs, he broke the MCFC all time record by scoring 4 against another PL team.

He does look a better player when he comes off the bench, he seems to try harder. I can't remember a game where he's started and put us in front by scoring a couple of goals or so. He's scored some really important goals for us in the past and that's what's bought him more time at the club in my opinion.
