€40m is a lot but at his age we could get 7 or 8 years out of him - so on that basis he could (if he's good enough) be a good long term investment.

More than 7 or 8 years if he's world class! He's only 22, so we could be talking as many as 13 years.

City are definitely after him (or Zouma) I've heard, don't know if it's doable though, depends on whether they're willing to pay the dosh Porto want I guess.

Footballers staying at clubs for that period of time....sorry but those are few and far between.if we pay £40m for this lad then more fool us.if we are going to spend that kind of cash then surely we could get vertonghen (spellcheck) a versatile proven premiership centre half and an almost gradual telepathic understanding with kompany?
